Would this be a good email to send?

Application reference: _____ Good morning, I submitted my naturalization application on 11/11/2019. My UKVCAS appointment was yesterday on 19/12/2019. I mistakenly believed the referee forms had to be posted by mail (as the referees had to have written on the back of the image glued to the sheet)! I...

Re: Where do I send the referee declarations?

They're supposed to be scanned and uploaded with all your other supporting documents before you attend your appointment at the UKVCAS. Once there they will only ask for passport/s. Some say you can still upload on your UKVCAS account on same day after your appointment butthere is no guarantee that ...

Where do I send the referee declarations?

I just had my UKVCAS appointment and I felt like something was missing.

Just realised they didn't ask me for the referee declarations. I have both of them in my bag but don't know what to do with them!!

Re: I think my solicitor was an idiot and I'll now lose the fee

This makes me feel a lot more at ease! How do I find out who my case worker is/how to contact them? You won't know who your caseworker is unless they specifically write to you or contact you. There is no way to find out who it is either. I'm not 100% clear on what biometrics are. Is it what I do wh...

Page 24 of that document states that discretion to disregard immigration time restrictions can be exercised if "the applicant had less than 12 months free of conditions when they applied, but meets the requirements by the time you consider their applications and all other requirements are met&...

Re: I think my solicitor was an idiot and I'll now lose the fee

Thank you so much for all the advice. I realise you advised me a certain way and then I went against it after my solicitor convinced me otherwise during an appointment yesterday. My current aim is damage control. I found a document called Page 24 of that document states that discretion to disregard...

I think my solicitor was an idiot and I'll now lose the fee

He told me to apply for naturalisation even though 12 months have not passed since I got permanent residence under the EU settlement scheme. I applied yesterday, 11th November. I got my settled status last year on 18th December. He said it's ok to do it because he found somewhere online that says th...

Re: How long after settled status can I naturalize?

I was under the impression that I need to wait a year to apply for naturalization. However, a solicitor told me it's only necessary that I lived here for at least 6 years. I've also seen successful applications on the naturalization timeline thread who've only held permanent residence for less than...

How long after settled status can I naturalize?

I've lived in the UK for 16 years so far. I have two degrees from this country, interspersed in such a way that no 5 year period is continuously exercising citizenship rights. I received settled status on 18th December 2018 through the EU settlement scheme. I was under the impression that I need to ...

Re: Settled Status beta test info?

The super fast response times are given to those who have been resident in the UK for the past 5 years with a full time job with no gaps. If you've been a student/housewife/anything else which doesn't pay taxes or receive benefits, your application will take longer as you'll have to submit separate ...

Re: NATURALIZATION HOLDING PR

According to the current guidelines, every person with an EU nationality should apply for settled status before 30 June 2021. https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families This means you should be able to use your PR card for a naturalisation application before that date, unless something a...

Re: Non eea PR and naturalisation afte BREXIT

Citizenship is something you'll be able to apply for regardless of Brexit, as long as you've had PR for the past year. However, after Brexit, all EU citizens will stop having PR and will start having settled status instead. No change to your rights as far as I can tell, just a change to the name of ...

My father was an EEA national and he applied for British citizenship successfully. It also means that I would not be able to get confirm...

Permanent residence after 13 years?

Hello, I came to the UK as an EU national when I was 13. I studied for my GCSEs and A-levels in this country before going to uni. I've been resident in the UK since then, going to uni again after 2 years and being employed in between. I never had any health insurance as a student, so I didn't exerci...
