I obviously don't have a naturalization certificate but I am not sure what is a registration certificate I would...

Re: Biometric for EEA nationals

ALL applicants for citizenship MUST enroll their biometrics. HO will write to the applicant within a few weeks of submitting their application. The applicant goes to the Post Office with the letter to do their biometrics. No required to do before you apply and will be pointless as the letter HO wil...

Re: Citizenship for newly become EEA national resident

Casa - there is some, we are just looking at that route for my husband to get an EU passport. I can get Italian citizenship by descent (never bothered until now) and Italy grants citizenship to the spouse of a citizen after x years, even if you have never lived in Italy. France, I think, does the sa...

Oh - and they even sent my passport back as signed for, had to collect from the Post Office. I only asked for my passport back at the time and all other documents were returned when I received my card.

Re: Applying as EEA national married to a British citizen

Oh, that's great! So I can request the passport back even if applying as a self sufficient person? Would you mind posting the link to the form? I searched the website but I couldn't find it anywhere. Yep - form is here: https://www.gov.uk/visa-documents-returned I think you need to wait a couple of...

Re the passport, you can request this back early through their website (there's a return of documents form somewhere). Got mine back within a couple of weeks from submitting the request.

Re: A few more questions [Referees + JCAP]

Bonus question: I'm just reading through a guide that comes together with passport form. Section about photo guidance says: 'You must have one photo certified if you are applying for a first British passport (adult or child)' Do we really need to get this done when going through JCAP? Thanks, Tomas...

It's also not offered everywhere yet. My council has three locations for NCS but the joint passport application can only be done in one of them.

Re: AN Form filled by EU National

I received my DCPR, which states the date of issue "12 Dec 2016". Together with the document, there was a supporting letter stating "Date you acquired permanent residence status: 28 August 2014". That is a very useful piece of information and seems to be a change from previous H...

Re: Question about documents for JCAP application

For naturalisation just bring the required documents. For passport you do not need birth certificate or parents details as you are going trough naturalisation. You will only receive passport once you had your ceremony. HMPO guidance booklet is not designed for JCAP. Photographs: one for AN, stick o...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

I know right! I would appreciate an email AND a letter, especially because of this time of year and possible strike action. Even better still an insight into the application process, i.e. an online account where you can check where it stands. With today's technology this could even be an option! Po...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

All, I know it's a waiting game with loads of patience needed but just wondering that how do we get the approval acknowledgement: letter or email from HO or from NCS or both? What happens if a letter is lost in post esp. given this busy period? How do we ensure we don't miss or waste time instead o...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Pro

I have noticed too that EU nationals seem to have a shorter waiting time. Hope we all have a fair chance at quick reply  I'll know soon how long my citizenship application takes but I've just waited for 5.5 months to get my permanent residency card (just proof that I've been in the UK exercis...
