Re: URGENT Travelling after ceremony

Just quick update on this…

Turned up to the border officer and presented my foreign passport and the certificate explaining the situation and he said
“Because you have this ( pointed at the naturalisation certificate) you can go”
And off I went.
No trouble

Re: URGENT Travelling after ceremony

Thank you.

Sounds like I’ll be asked a lot of questions…

They can’t hold me there for any reason can they? I’ll only have the citizenship certificate with me so hopefully they can have access to all they need from it?

But honestly, thank you so much for you quick answer.

It’s a relief already!

URGENT Travelling after ceremony

Hi there, I just had my British citizenship ceremony on the 7th of August. With that, I received the worrying news my mum has been admitted to hospital back home (BRAZIL) I need urgently to travel but I do NOT hold my UK passport yet. NOR have time to apply for one or rights of abode. Brazil is a vi...

Consent form For Naturalisation.

Quick question,

My appointment with UKVCAS is tomorrow and I’m getting all the stuff ready.

I’ve realised the consent form is formed of 3 parts.

Im only applying for myself, no sponsors, no dependent.

Can anyone say for sure which forms are meant to be signed please?

Thank you so much,

Re: Referee’s name

As long as the referee qualifies to be one shouldn't be an issue. This has never been reported as being an issue. Of course if you are really worried about it you could always ask them to fill it in again. It’s not just about the form… I could just ask for a new one… But on my application I’ve only...

Referee’s name

I have just submitted payment for my citizenship application and now I’m waiting for the decision on how to submit my document. Looking at the referee forms, one of them I think I will have an issue. When I requested one of the referee’s details it was given as Name Surname. But he’s just given his ...

BRP/BRC mistake

Hey there, I’ve just submitted my application for citizenship and now I’m waiting on the decision as to when/how to submit my documents. Having a look through the checklist given I was asked to “Current Biometric Residence Permit for” myself. I just read in one of the threads that what I have is not...

Re: Employer requesting evidence - pre employment checks

Well, that is something I didn’t know.

It’s a bit a scary. Do I need then to inform HO?

I meant I have asked this before and been told I shouldn’t but if I’m not a EEA family member for employment matters surely I am still a family member for the HO.

Re: Employer requesting evidence - pre employment checks

If that is so, what is my status now? If not a family member of EEA national? No, you stated you have a PR card. Your relation (or non relation) to a EEA national has nothing to do with your status anymore. You are not eligible for a civil service job. That is my point, if my relationship with the ...

Hello everyone, I hope some of you may help me once again. I acquired Permanent Residence Card in May 17 in which I was informed I could apply for british citizenships in November 2017. I just went through a civil partnership dissolution as the relationship has failed sadly. My ex partner no longer ...

Re: Evidence for naturalisation EEA family member

In all fairness, how am I meant to prove I'm in the uk at the day of the application? Surely, the application being made is proof enough?

So I don't have to show the reasons why I got PR? Only have to prove I lived here for the past 5 years?
Not past 5 + 1 year of PR?

Evidence for naturalisation EEA family member

I would like an advice on naturalisation. According to my PR letter received in may 2017, I can apply for naturalisation in November 2017. When applying for it, do I need to include all documents I sent previously for PR (including my partner's)? Or should I just send what refers to my residency? Wh...

PR Card and Misspelled place of birth

Dear all, Thank you very much for all the help I received from every single one of you. I finally received my PR card today. I have a trip to Greece on the 22nd of May. I was happy to finally take some time to relax abroad after all the wait but.... The home office misspelled my place of birth at th...
