He is a proper employer, in fact he had a job for me two months ago, but the project was put on hold since that time, so he doesn't have that project running at the moment, he wants to wait untill the project resumes or he gains another one.

Yes, if the sponsor checked the maintenance box in the COS; then you don't need to provide bank statements that proves you have GBP 945 for contentious 3 months
