@iamok: So sorry to hear you had to cancel your trip due to this mess. I had a trip booked for after the original ceremony (16.10) and I had no problem coming back in without my GNIB, I presented my invitation to the re-scheduled ceremony in Nov17 with my original passport and they had no issue lett...

Did the guy at the ceremony not say it takes around 4 to 6 weeks for the passport to be issued? I'm going home for Xmas as well but decided to do my passport upon my return to be on the safe side. Could you get an emergency passport from your country in case the Irish one is not ready on time? Best ...

Thanks so much for your prompt reply J_Karim! A friend of mine said it was taking up to 6 or 8 weeks for passport to be returned :shock: so i just wanted to double check to be on the safe side. I'll put my timeline up once i receive "Acknowledgement Letter", fingers cross i'll get approval...
