Re: Refused RC application

The reason why it was refused is because your husband is a dual citizen but first and foremost is a British citizen, I’m also from Northern Ireland. I have been told from quite a few sources that if your husband renounced his British citizenship you can then rely on EU rules to remain in the UK, I a...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

My wife applied for Irish naturalisation in July 2017 and still no decision on her application. Hello did your wife get her second stage letter ? No letter saying second stage but in April received a letter saying that it’s still being processed etc.. then in October asked for further evidence of b...

Re: Surrinder Singh Route

Besides, family members of British citizens can apply under the UK Immigration Rules anyway.

I didn’t know that family members of British citizens can apply under UK immigration rules if they are here under Surinder Singh? Is that possible?

Re: Surrinder Singh Route

March 2019 if No Deal (EU law ceases to apply to the UK directly) December 2020 (or longer) if Deal (as a Deal will likely include an Implementation period extending EU law into the UK for the duration of that Deal). The EU Settlement guidance may not be applicable in this field. It specifically ap...

Re: Surrinder Singh Route

A little bit of background information, I am a successful Surinder Singh route case, spent about 5 months in Ireland with my BC husband back in 2013 and recently received a PR card after 5 years of residence. Regarding your questions: you can't move to the UK with your dependent parents right after...

Re: Can you work on expired UK residence card?

In light of Eind, a British Citizen do not need to be employed upon their return home. It seems Obie already answered your question a week ago - did you see that response? So you should just go ahead and apply for PR for your wife - the maximum you risk is £65 and time. If you get rejected, suggest...

I’m my daughters full time carer who receives high rate DLA and I receive care allowance for her as I left work over a year ago to care for her. Re: PLEASE HELP - UK RC

You did say you were British & your wife was here under SS - missed that. I think you'd do well to seek some lawyer advice. You'll likely not have an issue getting Settled Status for you and your wife, based on residency. But for PR, the exact position of a carer is not straightforward, especia...

Re: PLEASE HELP - UK RC

I’d like to add that I have never received jobseekers since leaving work to care for my daughter but I do receive carers allowance, I am not entitled to Jobseeker’s Allowance as my partners salary is too high. Is it possible if we can make an application for PR stating that I was self sufficient for...

Re: Surinder Singh PR refusal appeal results

Hi, I am planning to apply for PR in August after having spent 5 years in the UK. My husband and I lived in Spain before coming to the UK and used the Surinder Singh route to come. Since we've come to the UK, my husband hasn't been "exercising treaty rights" the full 5 years but when we f...
