Re: Surinder Singh before dec 2013

I do agree with you although Surinder Singh applicants will NOT need to prove exercising treaty rights under the scheme as it’s based on residency, but I’m curios as to what other requirements they are wanting? If people have successfully completed Surinder Singh why would they be required to show e...

Re: Surinder Singh before dec 2013

Surinder Singh applicants may have to provide evidence of residing in another EU country this can be stamps in the non EU passport etc, I think if someone has been issued a residence card in the UK under EEA and have accrued 5 years or more for settled status then I think that should satisfy without...

Just a quick update, we received a call today saying that the form will be sent out within the next week or so, so hopefully not waiting too long now. Hi Mufc69, did a staff of the home office purposely ring you to advise this or was this another wild guess by a home office staff when you rang them...

You do not need to show exercising treaty rights under the EU settlement scheme, it is residency based.

Re: Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

I have just spoken to the EU settled scheme resolution centre, they took some details and said they would be in in touch as the paper applications are not ready yet and might take up to 2 weeks. Surinder Singh applications must be completed by paper and NOT online.

Surinder Singh Settled Status Paper Application:

Hello, would anyone know when the paper application forms for Surinder Singh applicants will be released for those who wish to apply for settled status under the EU settlement scheme? seems to be a complete grey area and not much information regarding it?

Re: EU SETTLEMENT SCHEME AND FAMILY MEMBERS OF BRITS (SURINDER SINGH)

Where are you getting the information regarding 1st of May? the government seem to be handing out settled status left right and centre to all EU citizens but Non EU citizens having problems. But I’m sure the government don’t mind as they will get more votes to remain in the EU if there was ever a se...

EU settlement scheme/SS requirements

Hello I’d like to know if anyone knows the requiremts for Surinder Singh applications being made to the new EU settlement scheme? Must the British citizen be exercising treaty rights for the non EU spouse to make an application or is it based on continuous residence?

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Initially, I was of the opinion it is pure laziness or incapability of bureaucrats. But now I strongly believe it is a well-engineered policy with a combination of laziness, randomness, and disguise to covertly keep the anti-immigrant policy intact and limit the numbers below certain numbers and ob...

Re: Citizenship Application Processing Stages and Freedom of Information

Applied in June 2017 and my wife still waiting, back in October 2018 we received a letter asking for some further documentation like doctors letter, bank statements covering past years, we submitted everything before so don’t know why they asked again, but we did as requested. But why did it take so...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

I wouldn’t waste my time to be quite honest. We’ve been waiting over 1 year and 7 months and many people on here are getting their approvals within months.. I don’t know if it’s a filtering process depending on which country the applicant is from (my wife’s from Philippines), EU family seem to be ge...

Re: Citizenship applications from 2017 pending approval

Eventually got through to the INIS.. they said my wife’s application is still being processed and will go through a final check and that apparently there is a Brexit backlog, probably another year before we get any result, 1 year and 7 months later and still nothing the whole process has been a joke.

Yes, if you renounce your British citizenship , you would become solely an Irish citizen from the date your renunciation certificate is issued and your wife would need to meet the requirements applicable to spouses of Irish citizens (at the moment, the same as those for EEA citizens). Thank you for...
