Re: URGENT - Overstay after my family permit expires?

Hello everyone, A quick update for my story. I have just got my documents returned yesterday with a letter for Home Office saying that my residence card will arrive in the next 10 working days. So in total it took me just about 3 months for the total application process. The detail timeline is as be...

Re: Can a non-EU spouse work in the UK without RC?

As people have said, you are allowed to work here legally, but as you don't have any paperwork to prove it, it is difficult for potential employers to employ you. However you might try to persuade your current employer that you have the right to work here. Do some research on EU/UK legislation and s...

No, I didn't ask for my passport back. I think in total it took me about 5 weeks to receive the COA with right to work

Re: Non-EU Spouse - Advice needed

Question - once married and in the UK without the FP, as far as I understand (please correct me if I'm wrong), in order to obtain RC we would need proof of living together and basically sharing our lives with each other. One of these could be a joint bank account, but will she be able to open one w...

Re: URGENT - Overstay after my family permit expires?

I have received my COA, I think around September 5. Has yours arrived yet? I am not entirely sure how you can chase that up, I understand from other threads it might be worth asking your local MP to get involved?

Re: Non-EU Spouse - Advice needed

I was in exactly the same situation last year so this is what we did. - First I applied for an UK Marriage Visa from Vietnam, which is valid for 6 months. As long as you have evidence proving your relationship, it should be fine. I would strongly suggest you to make a reservation for your marriage a...

Re: EEA Family Permit while 5-yr residence card is pending

I would advise you not to follow option 2 (applying for a second family permit in the US). I was in a similar situation previously and was advised by an immigration lawyer that having 2 immigration applications sent to the Home Office at the same time will void each other. I have no way to verify th...

Re: Italian - Chinese couple (Married)

You might want to consider how long it will take you to apply for a Family Permit outside the UK. I was in the same situation like yours but in the end I decided to stay and apply straight away for a Residence Card. Going out of the UK to get a second Family Permit might be risky because of 2 reason...

Re: Sheffield Visa Section - EEA FAMILY PERMIT

Hi Viety, If I am not wrong, in Jan 2017, FPs were still being approved in various global centres and not at Sheffield but it has all changed to being approved only at Sheffield since April. Perhaps this is why everyone who's applied after has been facing this very disheartening delay. Oh, I don't ...

Hello Elizabeth?

After 6 weeks, you received the Biometrics letter, and after that how long did you have to wait to receive the COA with right to work?

Thanks

Re: Sheffield Visa Section - EEA FAMILY PERMIT

I also checked the processing time that 98% will take 15 days and 100% will take 30 days for Rome, Italy. I applied for my FP in Rome back in January 2017 and I was granted after exactly 2 weeks. I am not sure why your case took so long and why it was deemed "not straightforward" case. If...

Re: Urgent advice needed in regards to traveling!

Why don't you fly back to Bangkok and get another EEA family permit there for the kids?

As I understand, the processing time for EEA family permit in Bangkok is fairly quickly, normally around 2 weeks. I think that would be the best and cheapest way.

That's really quick. I can't believe you have got your RC in less than 5 months. Fingers crossed our straightforward cases would be dealt with quickly like yours

Re: To lawyer up or not to lawyer up, that is the question!

VIETY, what did you include in your Cover Letter? Do you have a suggested format? I tried googling a bit but couldn't really find much. I was thinking just a few sentences on what we're applying for, and then point form notes on my previous visas (Tier 5 from December 31 2015 -June 30 2017, Tier 2 ...

Re: SITUATION EEA FM - Residence Card Application

I really want to know if they could apply straight away for EEA2/EEA FM or do they have to wait for 3 months before they could apply I have not seen any regulation saying that you need to wait for 3 months to apply for EEA FM. You can apply straight away as long as you gather enough supporting docu...

1. Would that be a ground for a refusal when you send your application after your EEA FM expired? Hello angel0317 I have decided to go ahead and apply for my Residence Card. I don't think this would be a ground for a refusal as by law you are allowed to stay here even when your EEA FM expired and y...

Thank you. I have just read other members' experience when travelling with an expired family permit. It can be very tricky to travel with an expired permit indeed. I think I should find other solutions

Thanks again for your responses. It has been great help

Re: Applying for Residence Card - Family members of EEA citi

Thank you so much for your quick response. I would like to apply asap as I understand it will take up to 6 month for the residence card to be issued. One more question please, I have plan to travel from UK to Italy in late July when my family permit would have been expired and I probably would not r...
