Hi Wiggsy

Thanks.

You are basically confirming my thoughts.

The only reason I went with NCS is so that we could keep our passports for travel.

So option 1 - apply and send passports
Option 2 - apply via NCS in another council

This helped in our case.

Sent in copies of passports initially in August 2012
Application declined Jan 2013.

Resubmitted with passports straight away.

When we received the COA, we asked for the return of passports for travel and RCs issued a few weeks later

Hi

We did provide our RCs as evidence.

I was asked to bring my wife along (and brought our marriage certificate just in case as "extra" evidence)

I wonder if the UKBA only considers the 5 years of economic activity of the union citizen, OR if the non-EEA family member is also required to prove the same for the 5 year period. I believe that the EU Directive only requires the former to be fulfilled (provided that the r/ship is still subsisting...

EEA4 then Naturalisation

Just wondering, assuming an individual gains the automatic permenant residence following their 5 year residence on an EEA2 permit. They then apply for EEA4 to confirm these rights, but the application takes, let's say, a year. Can this individual apply for Naturalisation only 1 year after they are g...

Congratulations on your permit! :D Its good to see people getting their permits sooner rather than later. I would assume that if your relationship is geniune, that you have no complications or problems in the past with immigration and have been here legally, that your applications are processed smoo...

This was the exact reply of the Border & Immigration Agency: If you have retained your old passport, you need not transfer the stamp from one passport to another. You may travel with both the old and the new passports. Thanks Carlitos....I have heard this from another source, but wanted to conf...

I can only hope for the best!

In our experience, we submitted our applications at the beginning on Janurary 2007 and recieved our passports back at the end of February 2007. We sent both EEA1 and EEA2 applications together. Obviously, the Home Office will deal with everyone's applications differently, so time-wise for applicatio...

Passport expiring, EEA2 permit valid

My passport is expiring in July 07 and my EEA2 residence stamp is currently valid until 2012. I will need to renew my passport soon, but will the EEA2 residence stamp be still valid? The IND website states Transfer Of Conditions Transfer of conditions is not a concept in European law. If you have ob...

thanks for your comments doc! I've done my internship in Ireland a good few years ago! I have emailed the GMC, but their response was to contact an immigration lawyer specializing in EC rights. I must deomonstrate that I hold European Community Rights under article 11 of regulation 1612/68 EC.

EEA2 and deifinition of EC rights

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not EEA2 entitles "EC rights"? Currently, I have provisional General Medical Councl (GMC) registration, but would like to convert this to full registration to increase work oportunities. I graduated from medical school in Ireland, and looking at...

What other documentation did you (and your spouse/partner) send in your one application for the EEA1 and EEA2 applications? Did you reference the EEA1 application in the EEA2? Mortgage acceptance offer, payslips from both employers, evidence of moving houses (moved twice over a 4 year period!), P60...

am just a bit curious about the fact that I cannot send both EEA1 and EEA2 in one application (well one envelope to the same address). Would it not be better for me to apply for EEA1 now (since it takes only 6 weeks) and then send the EEA2, with the EEA1 reference number included (once I get it)? W...

I have read others who have mentioned that they had their EU spouse apply for residence card using EEA1 at the same time, and the apps were processed withing a month or so. I'll see if i can find that thread and post the link. With our experience, my partner (Irish) and I (Canadian) applied for EEA...

Hi You should be able to fill out the EEA2 form by yourself. We initially used a solicitor for advice, and paid £120 for the initial "interview assessment". During crunch time, we simply follwed the advice on this forum (lots of good advice - just use the search tool) and submitted the for...

Hi It is not essential to apply for EEA1. However, in our experience by applying together, it may have sped the process as EEA1 applications do not take as long (around 1 month) so they may process both applications together to save time. Took us about 5-6 weeks to get our applications back. It may ...
