Interview questions for first time child UK passport from abroad

Hi All, We applied for our 8 month old son's first UK passport from Pakistan in January 2023 (he was born here). My wife has just been asked to attend an interview online as part of the application process. Does anyone know what kind of questions can she expect. Is it likely to be related to our Son...

Re: First Time child UK passport from Abroad

Hi, Thank you very much for your reply. Unfortunately, following the deduction of Passport fee on the 11th of Jan 2022, there is still no update regarding the application. In fact, I called the HMPO customer care (03002220000) and they can't even locate the application on their system (neither by na...

Re: First Time child UK passport from Abroad

Hi, Thank you for very much for your reply. So, can I apply for the baby's Certificate of Entitlement-Right of Abode (in the non-UK passport) whilst his UK passport application is in progress, or do I need to first withdraw the UK passport application? If we do have to withdraw the baby's UK passpor...

First Time child UK passport from Abroad

Dear All, We have applied for our 3-month old baby's first UK passport from Pakistan a few weeks ago. My wife and I are both UK passport holders (naturalised in 2021). At the Gerry's application centre, we were told that it is usually taking around 8-9months for the first passport application to be ...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

I am hoping that UKVI speed up a bit with the Certificates dispatch now that the Covid-19 situation is improving.

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Hi All,

Does anyone know which approval dates are currently being processed by UKVI for Naturalisation certificates and ceremony letters?

Many thanks.

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Hi, How did you know that the application is in progress. On which home office system did you see that please You can not see that. Possibly OP meant something else. I was wondering about this The Home Office mentioned in an email that the application is progressing in the system so that made me won...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Hi All, Just wanted to ask about other applicants' experience who applied for Naturalisation towards the end of October 2020. From the timelines, it seems as though the application processing has really slowed down/stopped since the January lockdown (perhaps due to limited staffing). The last approv...

Re: Passport validity for Naturalisation application

Hi, Thank you very much for your reply. So if the passport expired during the Naturalisation application processing, could I still use the expired passport to apply for a British Passport (assuming the Naturalisation is granted) or would I first need to renew my passport before applying. Best regards.

Passport validity for Naturalisation application

Hi All, I am planning to apply for Naturalisation next month but my current passport is only valid for another 5 months. My understanding is that the application processing time can take upto 6 months + additional processing time for the British Passport application. I am wondering what would be the...

BC for child born in UK but living abroad

Hi, I have a question with regards to BC applicatino for children born in the UK. If the parents (on ILR) leave the UK and go back to home country wth the child, can they still apply for the child's BC from the home country. If so, then do they need to specify the date of return to the UK within the...

Tier 2 dependents with main applicant on ILR

Hi All, I am currently working for a UK company on a Tier 2 (General) visa. My family is on the Tier 2 dependent visa. I was wondering if it is allowed that I switch to indefinite leave to remain (after 5 years on Tier 2 with one year remaining on the visa) whilst my family remains on the Tier 2 dep...

Re: Application for Tier 2 (General) renewal with same emplo

Thank you very much for your replies CR001 and ronychy210!

Its good to know that Tier 2 visa renewal can be applied even a day before the expiry without affecting the 5-year period for ILR. Is there any UKBA documentation around this subject as well?

Best wishes!

Application for Tier 2 (General) renewal with same employer

Hi, My 3-year Tier 2 (General) visa, and my family's Tier 2 (PBS dependent) visa, would expire in the middle of May 2017. I am looking to continue with the same employer and therefore will be renewing the visa for myself and family. In this regard, I have the following questions: 1. To remain eligib...
