Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Mine got to the Embassy 5 days before yours, and I haven't received my certificate yet. I did get a reply to my email a few days ago saying that I have now been entered on to the register, however, so I imagine you won't have long to wait now.

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Got an email yesterday (in response to a query I sent last week) saying that my application for FBR has been approved and I am now on the Foreign Births Register. My application was sent to the London embassy in October, and they sent it to Dublin in the past couple of months due to overload. Total ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

My husband has received an email from the London embassy telling him that his FBR application has been sent to Dublin, and is at an 'Advanced Stage' of processing. FYI he sent his application on 4 October and it was received on 5 October. Hopefully he might get his certificate by the end of April. ...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Hello, all! I mailed my application to Dublin from the US at the end of January, so I've got a ways to go. I'm happy to submit data points as I encounter them! In the meantime, it occurred to me to question the allowance for line of descent. My understanding has been that once past an Irish-born gr...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Just received a reply to my update request on my October application. The London Embassy has had so many applications that it has had to send some of them to Dublin for processing, including mine. They were unsure of what this might mean for processing time, but said the position would become cleare...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Hey all. I have a quick question regarding the application form. This question is puzzling me .... "Details of the Parent through whom Irish citizenship is said to be derived" Is this question relating to my immediate parents or my grandad's parents? (my grandad is a irish born citizen) A...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Just to add a data point: The London embassy received my application on 19 October, and I haven't had anything yet. I asked the embassy about the status in November, and they replied that it could take 'six months or longer', but I think that was a generic answer. In any case, it looks like those of...
