I am British too, my boyfriend is Albanian, he was in the UK for just under 3 years, and never had a visa, he was in the UK illegally. He left the UK voluntarily last year never given a removal order or anything. You just need to make sure you hit all the criteria in terms of having evidence of your...

If you are applying for a fiance visa you don't need evidence of you living together. My fiance and I have put our application in, he has an interview in 2 weeks. We have been together for just over a year and never lived together.

We are applying for a fiance visa for my Albanian boyf, he was in the UK illegally and we mentioned it in the covering letter, but didn't go into detail about how he got here (he never had a visa). He has an interview in just over 2 weeks. I asked some other people what happened in their partners/hu...

We have said on the form that we met in the UK and if my fiance has an interview then he will say how he came to the UK. Our lawyer working on the case told me at the first meeting that anything we said to her was confidential and that she did not work for the police or the home office and was not t...

Well we all know that he has done wrong. I wasn't over the moon when I found out how he got here, and he isn't exactly proud of what he done. We have decided to go and apply for the visa and see what happens.

Thanks again for everybodys advice and support.

Its easy for you to say my fiance has to suffer the consequences of his actions but to be fair I don't think that it is very constructive. I came here to ask for advice on the matter and see if anyone has experienced anything similar. Thanks to everyone who has made a valuable contribution and your ...

I just don't know how he can say he entered the UK without disclosing the info about the fake passport if he has to have an interview when applying for the visa?

So would you suggest to just answer the questions on the VAF2 honestly e.g. have you been to the UK before? YES have you applied for a visa before? NO and then if they give him an interview what should he do then? I'm sorry for all of the questions but I am so worried that applying for this visa cou...

I don't condone what my fiance has done and he is deeply ashamed of what he done but there are circumstances which led him to think this was the only way of providing for his mother and family and I'm not going to judge him. If he did not own up to the fake passport then how could he possibly say he...

Yes I do realise that my fiance cannot work until he changes over to a spouse visa. We are hoping to get married in June/July and he will come over 2-3 months before the wedding takes place. Once we are married we will pay the £500 fee to get the spouse visa as soon as possible, so that my husband (...

Travelling on a Fiance Visa

If you are successful in obtaining a fiance visa do you have to travel on it immediately or could you wait 2/3 months before travelling on it? I am aware that it is only valid for 6 months but would it be possible to come over 2 months before your wedding was taking place?
