I had 5 years refugee status then applied for ILR for free. It was refused on grounds of a driving offense and they extended my refugee status with another 3years. National insurance contribution class 2 or 4

Hey all ,
would anyone here know if i do not pay national insurance contribution,it will affect my permanent residency application in future . P.s I do not make enough money to pay that type of contribution and it says voluntary anyway . Please if you have info about it , let me know asap . Thank you
