Naturalized Irish citizen moving to the UK

Hi - I am trying to find out what is involved if I (a naturalized Irish citizen) want to move to the UK to work. Do I need to apply for any permits or register with the UK Border Agency?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Tracking application progress via INIS website

Does anyone know why the INIS wouldn't publish application progress on their site for people applying for LTR/WCATT/Naturalisation and other visas? I am not talking about just results of certain applications, I am more thinking about tracking progress. Surely this would considerably reduce the amoun...

File sent to minister- application refused by his office?

Hi

We learned this morning that our files have been sent to the minister for a decision.

Just curious to know if this process is just a "formality" or has anyone's application been refused by the minister's office?

Thanks

One would think that because of the austerity measures and the mass exit of Irish because of massive pay cuts, joblessness, tax increases etc they'd welcome the foreigners with open arms to help pay back this massive amount of debt. If the Irish leave, and the foreigners, who'll lighten the burden t...

We are still waiting too. Applied 10/2008, Request for further info 05/2010 (sent info back just couple of days later) Middle of next month we would have been waiting the full 28 months, although the INIS website now states 26 months if my math is accurate. But keep in mind there was a strike in pro...

Additional info re. self employed status for naturalisation

Hi We've received our letters from the DOJ requesting additional information (P21, bank statements, salary slips) for our naturalisation applications and I am curious about one thing. I have a Irish-registered limited company where I am a director but also employed by the same company. Am i "se...

Once you get stamp 4 you have permission to set up your own business. .......... Once you are on stamp 4 you can chamge employment or open a business, you would only have to inform INIS about changing work when on stamp 1, And on stamp you can't set up a business. So work away and best of luck! Sor...

Count me in. I am mostly available in the evenings to meet up. If i can make an alternative meeting point suggestion - The Westbury off Grafton str - it has a big lounge area with plenty of seats. (In either way it really doesn't matter where we meet) We can get together and get some form of charter...

Does anyone have any idea as to how many people use this forum and might be keen on joining this? That's one of the reasons for my poll. I wanted to get an idea of how many people is browsing this forum. I guess one approach would be to get a not-for-profit org going, and get people actively involv...

I would also be in favour of protesting in front of the Irish parliament Dail (Leinster House) which can be a PR disaster for the Government if everyone found out about the cra**y way the government treats legal foreign workers and not just asylum seekers. Count me in. But we will need a considerab...

I find that disgusting, considering the wages I am on and the amount of abuse I have to take from the youth (and their parents!) of this country (most of whom cannot complete an application form to save their life) I appreciate and understand the torture that you take from the public. I can see tha...

What is interesting to me is that I have to wonder as well what GNIB is doing with all that money they are getting from issuing the alien registration cards. If they successfully process 300 people a day, that's 30,000.00 euros. In a month (say 20 days) - that's 600,000.00 euros. That's more than 7 ...
