No the OCI guy prepped my Renun file as well for the Consular officer to sign in the afternoon, so no extra copy needed in my case.

Exactly. Surrender makes u eligible for visa. May have to do it every time for each trip.
Renunciation which is processed at Ministry New Delhi makes u eligible for OCI. Lifelong unlimited duration and frequency of trips.

I am having considerable difficulty getting the left thumb impression of my toddler for OCI - tried while sleeping Guess since it is mandatory whats the best kit recommended ? or is there some good technique. .. people do seem to post that they undertand it is not going to be a great finger print .....

- IELTS in UK 2015
- PG Cert in Patient Safety (Univ of Edinburgh)
- MRCOG degree

Surely just the MRCOG / PG Cert should suffice as evidence?

Does anyone know that reapplying for a new restricted COS after rejection entails the same slow painful process.. apply by 25 of month, and get the COS by 12 of the following month .

Or is to possible to get a new number quickly?

If u have been refused, then the COS has been "used", and therefore needs a new COS to reapply ... i stand corrected

Never understood their logic for a new COS
