Re: Travelling with an "EEA Dependant" stamp

You can travel. You need to be patient with the border staff and explain, and ask to speak with a supervisor if needed. Are you flying (in which case you come from a country which does not require visas to enter the UK)? It is always good to carry a copy of your marriage certificate, and your COA fr...

Re: Can you get refused a RC because of a criminal convictio

Exactly what did the refusal say?

If it was based on EU free movement law, and the relationship was not mentioned, then relationship status was clearly not considered an issue.

Re: Double entry in the UK on a Code 1A stamp

As an aside, I think Code 1A has been replaced by a "EEA Dependant" ink stamp. Home office reply to FOI request If the officer is satisfied that the passenger is eligible for admission, the passenger's valid passport will be endorsed at the border using an "EEA Dependant" ink sta...

Re: Having a baby with family permit

One small suggestion: after the baby is born you need to register it. I think it is usually useful to get several (3 or 4) long form birth certificates when you register the new child. Very cheap and easy to do at that point. And if copies need to be sent or surrendered to other countries (e.g. Ital...

Re: Having a baby with family permit

For the first three months after you arrive in the UK, the EU citizen does not need to be doing anything specific. The couple both reside fully legally in the UK. That includes full access to health care in the UK. After 3 months the Eu citizen needs to be working and self sufficient. Do not worry a...

It is not possible for you to overstay your Schengen visa. The visa is only for crossing the border.

Re: Can you get refused a RC because of a criminal convictio

A critical part of a decision is also whether the person is a present and ongoing threat to society. If they did something bad in the fast past but are now a model citizen, then past criminal convictions are less relevant.

Is there another thread where the OP said that? Where has the OP been located since finishing the time in prison? In the UK without further involvement with the criminal justice system? Is there a difference in the handling of direct family members vs other family members with respect to criminal ac...

Re: British National moving to Slovakia with Indian Spouse

The visa may be needed for travel to an EU member, depending on the citizenship of the family member. The Residence Card is applied for once you arrive and the EU citizen is either working or self-sufficient

Re: British National moving to Slovakia with Indian Spouse

If you are there in Solvenia with your EU citizen spouse, then you can safely ignore the duration of the visa. It is only an entry visa, and is not relevant for your subsequent stay.

Re: EEA family permit and NHS service entitlement

Push back! Baby notes: Get several copies of the long form birth when the baby is born. It is cheap and easy when you register the child, and useful later. Also note that once you have lived and worked in the UK for 5 years, you will have PR. At that point you can "register" your British b...

Re: Move out to Germany as EEA Family Member

I guess the point is you will need to get a Residence Card, but you do not need "permission" per sae. For instance you could work from the day of arrival if your employer was cooperative. It may have changed, but in Germany it takes about 4-6 weeks after application to get the physical car...

Re: EEA family permit and NHS service entitlement

Your non-EU spouse is fully entitled to NHS medical care. Also, any time spent in the UK counts towards the 5 years of residence required for "Permanent Residence". Tell the NHS that your wife is fully legally resident in the UK. Definitely do not pay them a cent. And politely tell them to...

Hungarians can work freely in all of the EU right now, including Germany and the UK.

You can also work freely in the UK. And also in Germany.

No permission is needed.

Re: British National moving to Slovakia with Indian Spouse

If you plan to move eventually to the UK, then your British spouse will need to work. You will need to apply for a Residence Card and will need to keep all evidence that your wife is working.

Re: My wife's status in UK is a tourist

Your wife did not need to mention she was married when you entered. Even so, she is now resident as the spouse of an EU citizen and time is now accumulating towards permanent residence.

Until you get a Residence Card, when you travel, be sure to ALWAYS carry your marriage certificate.

Re: Family Member of EEA national Sick and Out side of UK

She should keep official records related to being sick, to be able to demonstrate it if asked in the future.

In any case, her right of free movement comes from the legal relationship she has with the EU citizen. It is unlikely that will change during the period she is outside the UK.
