Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

HI all, I’ve recently received the ceremony invitation letter and am awaiting a call back from my local council. However, I’m confused about something that should be really straight forward! On my Lithuanian passport the place of birth is “Lietuva” (translated: Lithuania), where as on British passp...

Re: Online application and NRDS - UKVI requesting missing documents

I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think you can. That was my worry too and I couldn’t think of a way to find out whether the decision letter has been sent out. No one will advise on the progress of your application (via phone or email), unless it’s been over 6 months. There ...

Deed Poll wording

Hi all, Could someone please share the exact wording of Deed Poll for people who have become British via Naturalisation route? Every template I have seen online contained a line “a British citizen under Section 37(1) of the British Nationatily Act 1981”. From a few websites I gathered that this only...

Re: Online application and NRDS - UKVI requesting missing documents

As promised, here’s my update! On 07/06 I got impatient and submitted the Return of Documents form - thought it was the only way to nudge them! I hoped that if they still haven’t found my documents, this would prompt them in sending me an explanation of what’s going on. This morning I received a let...

Re: Online application and NRDS - UKVI requesting missing documents

Hi everyone, Just an update, I got a reply from HO (via email) to say that my application is with a case worker and if they need more information they will contact me. Also I noticed passport fees being debited which means my documents definitely found its way to the case worker (I did joint applic...

Re: Online application and NRDS - UKVI requesting missing documents

Just to add to my messages above... Today, knowing full well that they can’t advise on individual applications, I called UKVI and expressed my concerns. The lady on the phone mentioned that due to a high level of applications a number of such letters were sent out by accident, so unless you receive ...

Re: Online application and NRDS - UKVI requesting missing documents

That’s so reassuring!

My letter had exactly the same dates, so I’m assuming a few copies went out that day. Now, fingers crossed for the rest of us!

Re: Online application and NRDS - UKVI requesting missing documents

Cannot see your letter anymore, but I submitted my online application on 04/04 and posted ALL of my documents on 10/04 - HO signed for it on 11/04. However, last week I received a letter stating that if I don’t supply the documents by 25/05, my application will be deemed invalid. Thought I was the o...

Re: Student applying for a PR Card

I was under impression that I gained PR status 5 years after I moved here A commonly held misconception. However all is not lost. Presumably, when you moved here at the age of 13, you moved here with one or both of your parents. If they exercised treaty rights (or held PR) in the UK for any five co...

Re: Student applying for a PR Card

Thanks for your reply secret.simon! I didn't even think about that - makes perfect sense bearing in mind I was a child when we moved here. Either way, I spoke to HO and they informed me that due to the fact that my RC was issued before 21 June 2011 (student status) I did not require CSI during my ti...

Student applying for a PR Card

OK...I'm no longer a student, but for the most part of the last 11 years I was, so long story short: - EEA national (A8 to be precise) - Arrived in UK in 2006. Being only 13y/o I joined halfway through Yr9, finished secondary school, followed by college (a-levels 2009-2011) and then uni (2011-2016) ...
