Re: Earliest date to apply for ILR

Thanks, don't know how this happened. Just filled in the correct form and have a couple of questions: 1. Is 'annual leave' enough for a 'reason for this time spent outside the UK and Crown Dependencies'? Or do I need to add more details? 2. At the very beginning of my employment I took 2.5 weeks off...

Re: Earliest date to apply for ILR

Just getting through my application and have a few questions: 1. I plan to apply the earliest: 28 days before 5 years pass from my tier 2 visa issue date. What should I answer for "How long have you lived in the UK? "? Because that would mean 4 years and 10.5 months really. Is that ok to a...

Working remotely temporarily whilst on Tier 2

Hello, Is it possible for a tier 2 worker to work from their home country for a limited period of time (up to a couple of months) to stay close with their family during this pandemic? I can see that tier 2 employees can work from home due to the pandemic: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covi...

Re: Earliest date to apply for ILR

Oh thank you. I was wrongly informed then by someone else that it is only arrival date and not the visa issue date that matters! Can you please also reply to my question about the period between visa issue date and arrival date? Should I list it as absence in my application? Does it count towards th...

Re: Tier 2 visa extended, registering with the police is not mentioned

I will just go to the Overseas registration office then. I'm surprised as some people on this forum mentioned they had some instructions in the decision letter regarding the registration.

It took about 6.5 weeks until I received the decision email. Then one extra week chasing DX for my BRP.

Tier 2 visa extended, registering with the police is not mentioned

I'm a citizen of Ukraine, which is listed on https://www.gov.uk/register-with-the-police/who-needs-to-register and also, upon my first arrival I registered with the police and I keep the certificate up to date. I've recently extended my tier 2 visa and just received my new BRP and the decision lette...

Re: Work travel outside UK while Tier 2 extension processing

I cannot believe such an obvious question does not have a clear resolution. What is the point of new service not taking your documents if you cannot use them to travel while waiting for the decision?

Change from unmarried partner to single

Long story short, when I applied for tier 2 visa 3 years ago, I was in a relationship with someone and (I think) I stated i had an 'unmarried partner' on my visa application (I cannot find a way to dig up my old application to verify). When I registered with the police upon arrival, the lady there e...

Saving accounts and maintenance funds for tier 2 visa extension

Hello, I'm planning to apply for tier 2 visa extension in about 1 month time and I'm a bit confused regarding the maintenance funds rules. I make more than £945 a month, which I can prove with my payslips, but I never keep this much in my current account. I have several saving accounts in different ...

Good evening, I know there are many topics about tier 2 visa extension, but I really need some help to understand how the dates rules work... I have tier 2 visa which expires at the end of May this year. My employer and I agreed to renew it sooner than later, so they are drafting a new COS with the ...

Applying for Help to Buy: ISA on Tier 2 visa

Good afternoon, I am planning to open a Help to Buy ISA in a UK bank and I am a Tier 2 visa holder. Eligibility rules are a bit confusing to me. I've checked this https://www.helptobuy.gov.uk/help-to-buy-isa/who-is-eligible/ and it just says you need to "be a UK resident" without specifyin...

Hello, I'm on Tier 2 visa in the UK. I've recently moved to a new flat and I'm confused about what exactly I need to do when my address changes. As I'm from Ukraine, I need to register with police, so I did. Also when I moved I changed address on my certificate. Police officer told me there was noth...

Re: Getting second passport under Tier 2 visa

Thank you for your reply! And if I decide to annul the old passport, i.e. have only one valid passport, do I need to inform UKBA using this form? https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/300948/CoC__Migrant__04-14.pdf What do you suggest that I do then? Getting second passport under Tier 2 visa

Hello, I'm Ukrainian and I live and work in the UK with Tier 2 visa. My current passport is going to expire in 3 years. My country law allows having two valid passports simultaneously and I'm going to apply for a new passport, because new passport format gives some advantages visiting other countrie...
