When I apply for my ILR (which is still a while away), I will be showing separate Excel tables/spreadsheets for: - Weekend breaks & bank holiday weekends - Holidays and the total number of days for each. Although there are no rules stating that weekends can be excluded, it may help the Caseworke...

Was the discrepancy in your friend's application a difference in the wording or the actual number? If the numbers are different, that will cause a problem. If there is a mistake in the wording, maybe not, especially if your other evidence matches (e.g. if you have an employer letter stating dividend...

Agree with what mulderpf has said. This time of year the job market usually gets very quiet, particularly because for many banks the economy means they aren't hiring or the hiring process is very slow. Of course, that's a generalisation and you may get a job very quickly. The point about time left o...

You could put a sticky-note on that page of your bank statement saying that the description is incorrect and it should be "dividend". As long as your other documents match up (e.g. dividend slips, accountant letter, etc), it should be fine.

Earnings can be shown from multiple sources. I'm not sure about non-UK earnings paid into a non-UK bank account - other posts or the guidance notes will tell you what can be included and the evidence required. Tier 1 doesn't restrict you from working for more than one employer and UKBA will only be ...

I had a similar experience with my SAR file. There were my HSMP applications / extensions and caseworker notes, plus a few landing cards (maybe 2 or 3) and that's it. Given I had probably 20+ absences over the period covered there was very little detail. I keep a spreadsheet with all my absences to ...

You can also ask HSBC to send you a statement mid-month (I did this). But you would need to allow 2 weeks for it to arrive so if your earnings period runs until 25 Oct and appointment is 1 Nov it might not arrive in time.

As sushdmehta states, a client is not an employer so cannot authorise annual leave. However, for business trips you could ask them for a letter stating that you were required to be in [location] on [dates] for the project you were working on for them. Then hopefully any other absences (i.e. not busi...

If it's on the application form, then no need to include it in the covering letter. The Judicial Review HSMP application form doesn't include the earnings period, so I put it in the letter. The reason I included the date of issue of my visa was because it was Judicial Review and I wanted them to kno...

Agree with mulderpf. The cover letter should only include items that aren't in the application form and that are relevant to the application. For example in my most recent extension: - I stated when my visa was originally issued and that I was applying for an extension under the JR (to make sure the...

UKBA can be very picky about everything matching up. Their argument would be if the numbers don't match, how can we be sure which ones (if any) are valid? It would be taking a risk to submit bank statements any payslips that don't match.

How many absence days do you have between contracts? Maybe if you subtract work-related absences, weekend breaks, and in-contract holidays the remaining absences will be within limits.

Why are invoices necessary? If you send two forms of evidence for each type of earning (e.g. payslip + bank statements) doesn't this meet UKBA requirements? A director is an employee of their own company, not self-employed.

When does your visa expire? Although I understand you want to apply early (I'm not sure how early) your application would be much more straightforward if you could wait until it was based on UK earnings only.

If your question is about extending your Tier 1 visa, you can search the forum for "early extensions" (I think there is a sticky).

As I understand, you can't be out of the UK for 90+ days in a row. The reason is irrelevant (business or personal). If you are out for more than 90 days, your counter for ILR starts again when you return to the UK and you need 5 years from the day you arrive back. You know that because it's the reas...
