Just wanted to post an update. I got everything back today, including approval for permanent residency. The timeline was five weeks. Thanks for the help!

Hi scrudu, You can apply for this in advance of your move to Ireland. Probably the best bet if you can do so as at least you can stay working in the UK. Thanks for this tip.
