Re: Passports Needed for Dual National to Get British Passpo

I thought that, if you have dual citizenship and want to apply for a British passport, you need to renounce the passport from the other country that you are a citizen off at the time of application. Is this what you meant or am I missing your point? You aren't allowed to have two passports if one o...

Re: Britsh Citizenshp and Knowlege of English

Here is the guideline: "4. If your degree was taught or researched in English You can prove your knowledge of English by having a degree that was taught or researched in English. If you have a degree from a UK university, you only need your original degree certificate. If your degree isn’t from...

Re: What proves that you are a british citizen...

Thank you for your help!

Does ROA require a different form?

I have an EU passport and wondered if I could keep it until it expires and only then apply for a British passport. Given that there are at least another 20months before Brexit takes place, I thought about leaving it until then.

Re: BC for EU national

You prove that you have been here for 5 years when you apply for PR.
This involves sending various documents like bank statements, P60s, bills, etc which will prove that you have been in the country during the 5 years.

What proves that you are a british citizen...

Hi, I was wondering what proves that you are a British citizen after your citizenship is approved? After the ceremony, from what I understand, you don't need to get a passport. How would you prove that you are a British citizen without it though? Would you be forced to have a British passport to pro...

Re: naturalisation

Usually, you receive a letter with your PR card. On the letter, it tells you the date that you acquired PR. That is the date that you will need to use to count 12 months from. Hope that this helps! I think that is for applications towards the mid to end of last year (2016) as when I got my letter i...

Re: No receipt by HO/UKVI or email confirmation

From what I understand, after the email (or no email), you wait for the letter requesting biometrics (if you need to have then done).
After you have done the biometrics, you just wait to receive an answer confirming citizenship or not.
This is my understanding of the process.

Re: No receipt by HO/UKVI or email confirmation

I applied on the 15th and only received the email yesterday. That's 14 days which is a bit long but seems to be the case for applications made April onwards.

Re: Date on PR card for naturalization

From what I understand, once you have the PR, when you apply for teh British citizenship you will only need to send the PR document. They might ask you to show them the letter that came with the PR to check that you are applying 12 months after the date stated.

Hope this helps.
