Child born to settled parents, Tier 2 or ILR?

Hi, My friends are settled since 2022 from a prior tier 2 application. They went back to their home country in the subcontinent to have their child last month. Can the child apply for an ILR directly or must the child apply for a tier 2 visa and spend 5 years on the visa before he becomes eligible f...

Hi

I have sent a 2nd follow up email to further nationality, Home Office Complaint Team, and MP today.

Let's see the outcome.
Could you give me the address/email contact for the home office complaint team? My MP didnt even bother responding to my email from 2 weeks ago :/

Re: Naturalisation delays 8 months -still waiting

I'm on my 10th month waiting for my childs MN1 form to come through. usually waffling in the letters saying many external agencies need to do checks etc. like what check needs to be done on a 4 year old!?

Re: Naturalisation for child born in UK.

I'd suggest you to renew your tier 2 visa anyway whilst you await a citizenship decision as this can take months and you'd be unable to go out of the country as she'd have no valid leave to remain. I am on ILR for the past one year. Can I just renew her BRP or is there nothing like that? you would ...

Re: When does qualifying period start

That is again a total misunderstanding and incorrect misinterpretation of the rules. The highlighted part actually refers to a scenario when there was a period of absence BETWEEN two periods of lawful residence and NOT the beginning. E.g. A migrant with a valid visa leaves the UK and while outside ...

Re: When does qualifying period start

The date of an initial application is obviously not relevant, the date of ILR is. It would be odd to argue otherwise. See: https://www.immigrationboards.com/indefinite-leave-to-remain/calculating-the-specified-continuous-period-for-ilr-application-date-t333334.html#p2091622 So I received an update ...

Thanks CR001 I initially tried to help this person out, but then its got to a point where I couldn't allow this persons ignorance to spread to others on the same forum. And the points you highlighted is exactly the reason the other person thinks its from the first visa application date. Tried...

When does qualifying period start

Hi all, I'm currently engaged in a furious argument on a forum where the people on there have a misunderstanding that you could count your qualifying period based on the date of application of their first ever Tier 2 visa and hence applying 28 before they would have completed 5 years to that date. M...

Re: Query related to Surrender of an Indian Passport & Applying OCI

the turn around time to get an OCI before your travel is too short, you are probably better off applying for an evisa OR you could travel on the indian passport, come back and start the process of the OCI.

Re: Register as a British citizen (MN1) 9 months and waiting!

Exactly my query! its clearly an IT/Software problem with the APP which hasnt allowed the biometrics to integrate, yet they are doing nothing about it. I'd recommend that anyone given the option to do in person biometrics to do that rather than waiting for them to fix such issues

Register as a British citizen (MN1) 9 months and waiting!

Hi all, My child was born in the UK and is now 4 years old, I received my ILR back in August 2022 and I immediately applied to register my child as a british citizen. Its been 9 months now and I still havent received her british citizenship. I had subnitted the biometrics via the IDV App and after t...

So you think its independent of whats actually happened? i.e the biometrics that havent taken up. Have you heard of instances where its taken years for children to get registered?

Delay in Registration of child as a british citizen

Hi all, This is a semi rant regarding another issue for my eldest child who was born prior to me receiving my ILR. Once I received my ILR I put in her application (MN1) to register her as a british citizen, this was back in september 2022. I received an invitation to upload her biometrics shortly af...

Re: Return to UK for a child who is registered as british whilst overseas.

But I heard its not legal to travel with such a BRP as its turned invalid. would I encounter problems at the border here in UK? more concerning question would be would the airlines/immigration in the country im in officials be able to know that the BRP has turned invalid cause of new citizenship?

Return to UK for a child who is registered as british whilst overseas.

Urgent help! Hi all, A bit of a conundrum, Whilst on holiday abroad, my child received her certificate of citizenship that was applied by the way of MN1 form over 7 months ago. How do I get back to the UK now that the BRP is invalid? I'm only here in this country where I'm holidaying for a week, so ...

I've gotten a printed form from the Post office and weirdly it doesnt mention anything about Non EU ILR holders, was this always the case? or has something recently changed?
