Hi there, Sorry for both of my posts ending up at the top, I did prefer to keep them separate because the subjets weren't the same, etc. I wanted to post an update regarding this question I posted ages ago because I have received my settlement visa just last week (yeah!) Basically, I ended up submit...

Hi there, I just wanted to add a post for the reccord, as I have been issued my settlement visa last week. (woohoo!) I ended up sending my application and documents to the Ottawa High Commission by express post mainly because it was simpler, faster and less costly for me. My visa was issued in less ...

Processing time for wife visa (INF4) and other questions

Does anyone know real processing times for INF4 in Ottawa, Canada (as opposed to the ones on their websites, 12 weeks); some people on the forum seem to say it's rather quick if the application is straightforward, 2-3 days. There is a huge dif...

Hi there! It's a shame she can't apply for a working holidaymaker visa. Anyone know of another visa of the kind for americans? I can't find any. In regards to the criminal offence, she'll need to declare it in her application so it isn't a matter of the US government not disclosing it. So a priori i...

Indeed http://www.archive2.official-documents.co.uk/document/cm53/5387/cm5387.pdf par. 7.11 However, this document (which is more the proposal for the legislation) says that there are some cases where it would be allowed, although I doubt the exceptions are numerous. It's a shame it penalises those ...

Yeah, I don't think so either since as a visitor you have to "have the firm intention of leaving the UK..." But I think you can still apply for further leave to remain under form FLR(M). I can't find anything saying it is possible, although I can't find anything saying it isn't. I wouldn't...

Hi there! This is my first post and you have no idea how pleased I am to have found this discussion board. I'm in the same situation. I am canadian, I met my boyfriend in Peru while doing volunteer work and after finishing my courses a year later, I applied for a working holiday maker visa which (af...
