So excited that after 6 months of lurking this forum to research and prep, I can finally post about my own experience! :D I'm a Canadian citizen with a Tier 2 valid until 2020, and my husband is Austrian and already has his Qualified Person Registration Certificate (as of May 1st 2017). We got marr...

That's so frustrating that some of you have been waiting for so long. I don't know how we managed to get so lucky but here's our timeline so far: I'm a Canadian citizen with a Tier 2 valid until 2020, and my husband is Austrian and already has his Qualified Person Registration Certificate (as of May...

Hi confusedandsad, were you able to find a workaround? I had a similar issue when I did my Tier 2 application, but I was able to salvage some of the pages, and had to re-do the rest.
Hi mayyoo19, if you look at the timelines thread, you can see that it generally takes about 2-4 months for the CoA, and then 6 months total for the actual residence card. My fiance submitted his Reg Cert application in the middle of March, and he tried following up last week and they said that the c...
Thank you VIETY and Richard W!! That helps a lot! VIETY, what did you include in your Cover Letter? Do you have a suggested format? I tried googling a bit but couldn't really find much. I was thinking just a few sentences on what we're applying for, and then point form notes on my previous visas (Ti...
That peace of mind might be worth it — we'll decide after our consultation. Was your situation straightforward as well, or did you have some weird situation?
Thanks secret.simon! That would make sense right? It's what I was thinking as well. But being someone who is obsessed over details, I've been scouring this forum for months to find indications what works and what doesn't and I'm kind of freaked out reading all the instances of refusals despite the a...
Hi secret.simon! We both arrived here in the UK on February 3rd, 2016. He started working at a management consulting firm on February 25th 2016, and has been working there non-stop since then. So he's a Qualified Person who will be applying for a Registration Certificate as he has been employed for ...
Hi guys! I've posted before on how I'm going to be applying for an EEA Residence Card shortly (3rd week of August if everything goes according to plan). I was wondering if I should pay the hefty £2000+ solicitor fees for them to do it on our behalf. Our situation is fairly straightforward: -I'm a Ca...
Hi Casa, thanks for the reply! Yes, we've given notice. We'll find out next week if the notice period will be 28, or extended to 70 (which would make it September). Also aware about the re-setting of the ILR/PR clock — I'm okay with that, I just got my Tier 2 a month ago anyway. Thanks for the answe...
Hi guys, I'm Canadian and my fiance is Austrian. We've been working here for a year and a half (I just recently switched from a Tier 5 to a Tier 2, valid until 2020), and we're planning on getting married next month. My plan is to have the EEA Residence Card application completely filled out and rea...
Thanks CR001. That's completely fine, we're applying under a "qualified person" as he's an EEA citizen who is employed in the UK (not just chilling on the couch everyday :D ). Thanks again for your responses, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders knowing that I can giv...
Thank you CR001! That helps me a lot..I can quit earlier and not be miserable anymore lol. iworker, basically, I want to leave as early as possible. But I don't want my lack of Tier 2 to deter my EEA Family permit (considering if I don't have it anymore, I'm not in the country legally). But if I'm s...
HI guys, I have bit of a complicated situation here. I'm currently on a Tier 5, and will be returning to my home country to finish processing my Tier 2. When my manager had decided to sponsor it, it was back in February and the company is undergoing MASSIVE changes which has affected my role. My res...
