Thanks for your replies. There is a lot of negativity in the press and Home Office about students bringing their dependents hence we think it might be better if the student applies first which might increase the chances. A visit visa application was rejected in the past which is also another factor ...

Student dependent application timing

Hi Student visa application to a post graduate role for September intake from Pakistan. Can the student apply for his visa first and if successful apply for his dependents before travelling to the UK. I couldn't find anything on gov.uk website to the contrary but the university has this on their web...

Good character requirement

I am applying for british nationality but at the moment dont have a job. In the good character requirment section of the form, it asks about the occupation and then type of occupation. What should i fill in as there is no mention of job seeker allowance? Can i apply for natainality while on benefits...

I was also granted an extension for 2 years in April. I wrote to the person who signed at the end of the covering letter and referred to the new policy guidelines. He called me few days later and asked me to resubmit my passport. Origina stamp was cancelled and visa was revised for 3 years.

He just asked me to send the passport directly to his attention which i did alongwith two line covering letter. As it was a typo (according to him) they just need to print another sticker and cancell the last one.

Got an email and a call from Home Office (Very unsual of them) asking me to send them the passport and they will revise the visa.

Hi I have already spent 3 years, 1 year on WP and 2 on HSMP, in the uk and applied for further extension last month. I have just got the reply and its 2 years extension instead of 3. Approval letter ( Not sure is compulsory but cant afford rejection just becaue of shortage of documents)
Passport
Bank Statements 6 months
Payslips 6 months (Additional evidence not compulsory)
Rent agreement

Hi Guys,

Got my application approved today. It was an in country application applied on 5th of February.

Now have to file the FLR(HSMP) to change the status from WP to HSMP. Thanks to all of you for your advice and I hope your applications will follow the same sequence of approvals.

Thanks siqbal. I think they are verifying your documents e.g contacting your previous employer for salary verification etc.

Called HSMP today. They are saying that the decision has been made but it is with the supervisor for rechecking.

It was an incountry application; applied on 5th of Feb; Ref#2072**.
