ILR absence; 450days or 2years?

We’re considering moving back to Australia for a short period after the tragic loss of Jemima our very gorgeous 3yr old daughter (for a service, to be with family, clear our heads etc). Before we go I’d like clarification of the rules/conditions around ILR when/should we decide to return (very l...

Save up your account management bonuses and move to Brazil with a 'Permanent Residence Visa’ Given the exchange rate, US$50K is getting cheaper all the time. Go start a diving school or adventure tour trek company .. Brazil rocks, as does Argentina, although it's colder.. .. tempted to do this mys...

Hi JAJ, thanks for the reply. Why is this important ?? I don't think we can use Section 3(1) as this is for children whose parents are applying for British Citizenship. Her mother will not be able to apply for BC for another three years (unless we marry). So I'm left with section 3(2) or 3(5). Will ...

When can we apply for citizenship for child?

Hi

My Aust'n partner (unmarried) and our daughter have just been granted ILR after 2 years.

I understand my partner is entitled to apply for citizenship after 5yrs residency but I'm unclear about when we can apply for citizenship for our daughter. Your advice would be much appreciated.

could be even quicker

I moved my family from Canberra to the UK 18 months ago, i'm a dual national. We had to obtain a spouse visa and dependant visa for our child.

It took 48 hours.

I'm dreading how long it's going to take to renew the visas (and the process?) here in London at the 2yr mark (we're unmarried).

If you're unmarried then your partner is on an unmarried partner's visa, not a spouse visa... For an unmarried partner's visa...you need to show 2 years of co-habitation as though you were living as husband and wife. Yes, that's exactly what it is - an umarried partners visa - get one of these (if ...

Confused if my new son is eligible for British citizenship

I am a British citizen by descent (born in Australia of married British parents). My partner/spouse of five years (not my wife) is Australian. She is here with me on an accompanied partner visa (no recourse to public funds etc) that I have sponsored as a British citizen. We had to prove our relation...
