Hi, For those who recently submitted or got BC using the new Form (May 2015). For the 10 years employment section, 1. Do you have to put the start/finish dates or the months/year should be fine? 2. Prior to having my my own Ltd Co. in 2011, I was using an umbrella company for all my contract assignm...
I would suggest you wait till Jan 2016 when the 3yrs has lapsed. At least you would have fulfill that requirement of waiting until 3yrs has lapsed. If you apply now and declare the conviction, HO might reject your application thereby wasting 1K and maybe banned for another 10yrs or they can hold on ...
I submitted my citizenship application as Director of a Limited company and these were what I sent: Call up HMRC to send your SA302 documents – these provide a detailed record of tax return figures. This will take up to 2 weeks. I know its asking for Self assessment for the last year, but I sent in...
Hi, With the new rules in place, you should be fine since its over 3yrs since your offence (non-custodial), except you've got other ones after this. You are eligible to apply since April 2014 :-) But do make sure you DECLARE the offence stated above on the form. please do let me know how your applic...
Hey guys it would be reassuring and useful to know if anyone has been successful in getting British Citizenship recently after the change in rules (after 12 Dec 2012) with the spent Police Cautions and other non-custodial sentences. It would help and give reassurance to those who have cautions,non-...
Hi, Is there anyone with non-custodial convictions and has recently applied for BC or looking to apply soon? Please share your experience. Got a DR10 conviction in Aug 10th 2012 and hoping to apply come this Aug 2015 since it will be 3yrs has lapsed from date of conviction with no other convictions.
As other comments said....you have to wait till sept 2015 before you can apply as that is when the 3yrs will lapse...and also make sure you declare the offence on the application as well. The rules have changed since you last apply for your FLR.......so you are better of waiting for few months to ap...
So when does it became unspent and will I be able to apply in Aug 2015 as per the new rules and the offenders act is exempted for immigration purposes.
My question now is

Thanks for ur reply, I know the driving ban starts from the day you got convicted but that wasn't the question.
Was asking if the 3yrs period as per new home office rules you had to wait before apply for naturalisation. Did you start counting from the date of conviction or date your ban ended?
Hi JohnJ, Did you manage to apply for your BC in the end? Quite interested on how your application went as I'm kinda in the same situation. DR10 conviction was 10/08/2012 Ban for 20months with fine of around £450 (fully paid) and offered to go on course and ban was reduced to 15months, which ended N...

Yea, think I will just leave it like that. Had 2 previous schengen visa 3,6 months in the last 12 months from the French embassy, so hopefully they will see that and give me a longer visa this time around and since I'm a permanent resident with Indefinite leave to remain.
Hi, thanks for your reply. Thing is, on the form, you can only specify either single or multiple entry, it doesn't give you the option to choose 3,6 months or 1-2 years visa.
Guess I will have to write 1-2 years in front when I tick multiple entry.
Hi, Just wanted to ask on what grounds did you apply for the circulation visa? I'm thinking of applying for one. Currently a UK permanent residence and self employed as an IT Contractor. Looking to get it as I'm thinking of going for mostof the Formula 1 races in Europe starting with the Monaco F1 i...
Hi, I read this on UKBA site If you have a conviction which is not yet spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1978, an application for citizenship made now is unlikely to be successful. We would therefore advise you to wait until the end of the rehabilitation period before making an applica...
Hi, Can someone please advise on the new criminalty rules along with the spent/unspent convictions for the rehabilitation of offenders act which is to come into effect April 2013. I'm already an ILR status holder (Granted Feb 2012). In december 2012, HomeOffice came out with the new rules and I beli...
Hello, Not sure if there is a similar question in this forum as I cudnt find anything to it. I've got my ILR last year and now I'm a permanent resident in the UK. My question is, a friend wants to come and visit me in the UK and its her 1st time. Can I write up an invitation letter with my ILR statu...
Oh really, thats good news if I can apply for BC/Naturalisation end of Nov 2013 (10months) I guess. Definately not gettin into any more trouble from now till ever. But what about the part that states fines Fines 5 years (or 2½ years if under 18 at the time of conviction). Driving disqualification Th...
So does this mean, "spent" and "unspent" convictions do not come into effect anymore in the event of non-custodial sentence? I got a driving ban for drink-driving last year Aug 2012 + fine. Ban is suppose to end Nov 2013, so the earliest I can apply for Naturalisation is Aug/Nov ...
