Re: Lounes case: settled status granted instead of pre-settled by mistake in our favour?

Can you share your timeline please? Rough timeline below. March 2018 - Spouse entered UK on EEA Family Permit July 2018 - Spouse received EEA Residence Card October 2019 - Spouse applied for (Pre-)Settled Status; CoA dated later that month. July 2020 - Spouse received Settled Status. So, spouse was...

Re: Lounes case: settled status granted instead of pre-settled by mistake in our favour?

I think that the OP will be fine, as Settled Status (or more precisely, ILR under Appendix EU of the Immigration Rules) is a grant by the Home Office. If they make a mistake, it is not that easy to undo, because it was an active decision by them and they are responsible for it. By contrast, PR was ...

It was a paper application sent by post (the only possible way to apply in a Lounes-type case) and the Home Office took 7 months to make the decision.

Lounes case: settled status granted instead of pre-settled by mistake in our favour?

I am a dual UK/EU national, and my non-EU spouse joined me in UK 2 years ago on an EEA Family Permit, which was then upgraded to a Residence Card. After the Settlement Scheme launch, I didn't bother applying for the settled status (as I have gotten UK citizenship), but my spouse submitted a Lounes-t...

Hi Mihcis,
Did you get the Settle Status or any positive communication from Home Office, let me know once you get the Settle Status.
Received a letter today (06 June) with a successful decision. Letter was dated 28 May. CoA was dated 31 October last year, so basically this took 7 months.

Re: EU SETTLEMENT SCHEME SETTLE STATUS PROCESSING TIME - PAPER APPLN LOUNES CASE

Hi Mihcis, I got my EEA PR and British Citizenship within 45days. It is very shocking to see such a long delay for EU SETTLE STATUS APPLICATIONS. The Home Office is ruthless and not following the government policy at all which has promised to timely grant legitimate EU citizens and their family mem...

Re: EU SETTLEMENT SCHEME SETTLE STATUS PROCESSING TIME - PAPER APPLN LOUNES CASE

We are waiting for a similar application since October 2019. Still heard nothing from the HO, the application is presumably still in the queue. Nearly 5 months since the CoA.

Re: Non-EU spouse has BRC, how to update the address?

UK residents don't need to update the Home Office of addresses change. Citizens neither. Are you absolutely sure? Because the 1st link in my post says: You must report any changes if you’re in the UK and have either: - got a biometric residence permit (BRP) - applied for a BRP but haven’t had a dec...

Non-EU spouse has BRC, how to update the address?

As the title says, my non-EU spouse has EU Right to Reside / Biometric Residence Card (BRC), one of these: https://www.vfsglobal.com/Italy/UK/London/images/residence-img2.png We have just moved to a new address. How do we update the Home Office of the new address with regards to the BRC? I tried Goo...

Applying for passport after naturalisation - changing spelling of a foreign name

I am an ethnic Russian born in USSR. In 1991 when USSR collapsed, I was living in the territory that is now the Republic of Latvia. Overnight, I and many others ceased being Soviet nationals and became Latvian nationals. The Latvian language has some special grammatical rules, which meant that nearl...

Re: Good character: previous history of arrests.

PR under the EEA rules are completely different to a citizenship application under UK Nationality Laws. This is the question in the EEA PR form: 17.8 Have you (or any family members who are applying with you) ever engaged in any other activities which might indicate that you may not be considered t...

Re: Good character: previous history of arrests.

If it helps, about a year ago I applied for the EEA Permanent Residence, which had a similar question about "good character". I did not mention any of that information there and my PR certificate was granted fine.

Good character: previous history of arrests.

I would be grateful if anyone knowledgeable could comment on whether I need to worry about satisfying the Good Character requirement in the naturalistion process. I have been through a very unpleasant history in the past, none of which was my fault (if you want to take my word for it), and in the en...

EEA Family Permit refused - what did we do wrong?

Today my wife got a refusal for the EEA Family Permit application. What did we do wrong? We read all the instructions thoroughly and thought we satisfied all the requirements. She is at present in Russia and I am in the UK, and she applied for the permit in order to join me in the UK. She enclosed: ...
