Name Change

Hi All, Looking for some advice. So, my partner and I got legally married back in March 2019, and she has been living here in the UK since September 2019 on the Family of a Settled Person Visa. She is American. We just last month had a wedding ceremony and celebration, and she is now intending to ch...

Legally changing name

Hello,

I am a US citizen living in the UK with my partner under a family visa, I am wondering if I wish to change my last name can I just do it here (UK) or do I have to do it in the US?

Any information on how to do it, and where, would be great :)

Thanks in advance,
SC

Re: VISA Application wording query

Another question...

Whilst we are waiting for the VISA extension decision my wife retains her right to work etc. Is there any way her employer would be able to verify that with the Home Office if necessary?

Hi All, I am a British Citizen, and my wife moved here in September 2018 on Family of a Settled Person Visa. This is due to expire in May 2021, and we are starting to think about applying for another 2.5 years. 2 Questions: 1. When should we apply, to ensure that we will have reached 5 years upon ex...

Spouse Visa Extension - When?

Hi,

My wife’s Family of a Settled Person VISA expires in April 2021.

When should we apply for the extension? And what happens if we apply and it doesn’t get processed by the expiry date? Can she continue to work and live in the UK legally until they process her application?

Re: Joint Mortgage

It's not a problem to be on a visa such as spouse or FLR(M) to get a joint mortgage. My husband & I bought a house in October. I would suggest using an independent mortgage adviser as they can look at the whole market and see which banks are most likely to offer you a good deal. We went direct ...

Hi guys, My wife is currently waiting for her visa decision. We are hopeful of receiving a decision soon, but if not we are hoping she may be able to visit me here in the UK instead. Re: Marriage Visit Visa

Because we have been doing long distance for the best part of 3 years and it is mentally, physically and financially exhausting.

Might i ask what the point of the Marriage Visitor Visa is if not to allow people to get married before they can reach the financial requirements of a spousal visa?
