Hi r486, I don't think that you need to worry too much, as long as she is able to stay in school (thus fulfilling the requirements of her student visa). Even if she does need to take time off, she should perhaps take a leave of absence so that she's still officially enrolled in school and is just re...

Wow- I'm surprised they're doing character checks when you sent in a CRB Check and P60s. I didn't send in either of those things; only my passport and marriage certificate. I guess I should expect to hear from them in a few weeks, as I applied about three weeks after you did. What do you mean by 'wr...

Called the HO again this morning, to check on the status of my postal application (made Nov 21, 2006) and was told by the very friendly attendant that my file STILL hasn't been assigned to a caseworker. I asked when this might happen and he said, "usually in the third month after an application...

Just called the home office to say that I've made a mistake with my application (I sent a notorized copy of my passport instead of the original but only copied the ID page, not the whole passport as required. I know- I'm an idiot). The recording that they play whilst keeping you on hold now says, &q...

Notarized Photocopy

Thanks Dawie.

Like everyone else here, I want to get this all over and done with as soon as possible. Do you think I should pre-empt their inevitable request and simply phone them myself, or wait to be contacted?

I wish I'd found this site before applying- I would have used a checking centre!

Notarized Photocopy

I submitted my application for naturalisation five weeks ago, as the spouse of a British citizen, and was told by the HO last week that my application is still in the que. I sent in notorized photocopies of our passports instead of originals but only submitted copies of the photograph-page of both p...
