Sponsorship from company cannot be treated as income. This is mentioned in the guidacance notes and logically neither your company nor you are paying tax on it.

I am currently on HSMP visa and was looking to apply as a dependent to my husband(who is under the Tier 1 general visa). But I called the Home Office today and was told that I need to go back to my country and then apply as a dependent. Just want to confirm that. Please help. I think HO is correct....

If you are not applying for your family/spouse, then you don't need to submit Marrriage Certificate at this point. You would need though at the time of your spouse visa.
