Victory, I don't think Kiwi was insulting you, but simply to point out some inaccuracies in your post!

Let's all be considerate of others next time and word our statements in a more friendly tone. :D

Swan, thanks for sharing your PEO Croydon experience. Having now read a number of ILR applications from different PEO offices, it would seem as though offices outside of London have many advantages to their London counterparts, namely (1) ease of getting an early appointment; (2) friendly and compet...

I was merely pointing out the situation confronting the case worker. Since the (separate) bank statements for maintanance funds did not satisfy the 1 month restriction, the case worker used the alternative bank statements.

They will include a letter stating either acceptance or rejection, together with all your documents.

If accepted, further information will be provided regarding how to obtain an EC. This can be done in Canberra and must be completed within 6 months of the approval date.

"...for the 3 months immediately prior to the application being made" IMO HO has interpreted this statement correctly. If you had applied on 30 Jan and supplied bank statements up to 20 Jan, HO will confirm two things regarding maintenance fund requirements: 1. Is the latest bank statement...

I don't think the issue is whether restricting migrants within Tier 1 means re-categorising them as 'unskilled'. There is nothing wrong with restricting economic migrants based on the state of the economy. There are a number of options for the HO: 1. restrict tier-1 migrants by enforcing a stricter ...

Do you still have the original postal receipt? You will find printed on it the weight.
If you ask UKBA to return all documents with a similar packaging, it should come to about the same weight. Otherwise, its lost during transit, but not necessarily by UKBA.

Firstly, I operated my own superfund, so I know how it works; and secondly, a retiree is unlikely to apply under this category to enter the UK.

Unfortunately, the guidance note does not elaborate on the definition of 'money paid', but given that pensions are only ever PAID OUT to pensioners (ie. when you turn 60 or so), it is *unlikely* that is the sense of the statement.

I'm with aruni4470 on this one. The guidance specifically states that the offence must be a criminal conviction. In Oz, speeding within a certain range is not a criminal offence and you are simply asked to pay a fine (as in your case). However, if you were asked to appear at a court hearing and foun...
