Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I've finally got all my paperwork together to apply for my two children, my father was born in Ireland so I've recently acquired my first Irish passport, now need to get the kids registered as well. I keep nervously checking and rechecking all the pieces of paper, there's just so much I feel certai...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Hello all, I just got my letter confirming that I'm now an Irish citizen (date of entry in FBR: 29 Sept), but they've spelt my first name wrong. :| Has this happened to anyone else? I've emailed the embassy, any idea what they will do or how long it will take? It's been a long wait - don't want to ...

Re: Applying for passport // First time adult

Hi everyone, I noticed that in the supporting document for applying for the Irish passport are the original Naturalisation certificate and the passport of the country of origin. Does that mean that I have to send both of them via Passport Express? and they will be returned together with the new Iri...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I sent mine off mid May, so it sounds like it could come sooner as I haven't heard anything from them and my submitted documents included a certified copy of my mother's Irish passport (acquired after my birth).

Fingers crossed!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I don't think the prepaid envelope is now necessary as you are charged a postage and handling fee.

My application was submitted in May and has been sent over to Dublin due to the sheer number of them. Is it likely to be any quicker over there?

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I found out that my application was sent from London to Dublin. Did this happen to anyone else? Could this result in it coming through quicker?

Thanks

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

So everyone else who has waited sicx to seven months has to wait longer because someone is having a kid? Doesn't make sense. I'm currently 3 months into waiting and it is absolutely fine with me and I am happy that the baby will receive citizenship. No offence, but you come across as very selfish a...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I was wondering if anyone has had to move address while waiting for their FBR? Is it possible to simply redirect the mail? Is it sent via signed for delivery? Thanks My FBR and return of docs was by ordinary mail in a A4 sized cardboard backed envelope (like used for Photos). I did get an email the...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

My husband has received an email from the London embassy telling him that his FBR application has been sent to Dublin, and is at an 'Advanced Stage' of processing. FYI he sent his application on 4 October and it was received on 5 October. Hopefully he might get his certificate by the end of April. ...
