Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Hello, I sent it all off in August but I just learned I am supposed to be registered adopted first...I didn't do that. Will they send it all back and charge me the fee all over again? The good news is that if you are registered as adopted, then you do not need to apply for foreign birth registration.

Re: Question about Foreign birth registration and adoption

If your grandfather had an Irish passport (and was born in Ireland) then your adoptive parent was born with Irish citizenship. Adopted or not, you may claim Irish citizenship too. First though you have to get an Intercountry Adoption Certificate. It cost about £60, and this is the website you need: ...

Thanks My application (for my daughter) was posted to London on 26/03/2017. We got an email from Dublin, two weeks or so ago, asking for some further verif...

You appear to lack the moral sense and love of babies for which we Irish are justly famous. Are you sure you are Irish?

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I was a first time applicant, last year; and applied via the Liverpool office. They do not send off your UK passport---instead they take a photocopy of it and certify that it was indeed you who presented it. Another thing (which caught me out) is that the photos required for an Irish passport differ...
