Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

According to the current citizenship application form 8 and on closer inspection I see differences from Non-EU citizens based on 5 years residence and people applying on the basis of an Irish nation .... " If you are a non‐EU citizen making a standard application based on having 5 years residen...

Re: Naturalisation - FOI and Q5.6 on absences from the state

Actually on another note ..... After calculating my absence from the state in 2018 I was over the six-week rule by just two days. After emailing the citizenship dept they confirmed that they don't count the departure/arrival days as being absent from the state so luckily because of this good news it...

Re: Naturalisation - FOI and Q5.6 on absences from the state

Hi Markem,

Im about to send my application off in the few weeks.

When complete it will be about 60 pages in total, I notice you mentioned 300 pages give or take. Can I ask why so many pages? I'm concerned I'm missing something other than what's on the required docs list in the application.

Regards

Re: No responses to emails and closed phone lines

I had two questions for them and the lady I spoke with was extremely helpful so was worth the 300+ redials to get through.
I did get the information I was looking for which I'm pleased about.

Hi

I tried getting through all morning today and after over 300 attempts I eventually got through to a lovely lady at around 12.20 just before they closed the lines.

I must admit I nearly gave up trying!

Re: Stamp change question.

Answering the original question that the OP asked, it is not immediately clear whether a spouse who is on 4EUFAM can apply for citizenship 3 years after he/she is married to an Irish resident with dual citizenship. However, there is a legal case in the UK (McCarthy v Secretary of State, 2011) which...

Re: Citizenship application

Thanks for reply.

I hold dual nationality both British and Irish.

Her permission is stamp 4 eufam. I became an Irish citizen through naturalization in 2107.

We meet the 3 years marriage and will meet the 3 years residence in May.
