Re: Foreign Birth Registration - Documentation requirements

I did not include my father's current identification as he is elderly and they required it. It is better to overdo than to leave something vital out. Good luck getting all your documents together. It's an exciting process!

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Hi all! Newbie here but I've read through the threads. I noticed some people have applied through their local (non-English) embassies. I have all my documentation ready. I'm a Brit, but I live in Germany. The only part of my application that isn't in English is my proof of residence (a bank stateme...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration - Documentation requirements

You will need to have your grandfather's marriage certificate .I do not know from which nation you hail, but in the United States, to obtain your grandfather's marriage certificate, you must call or visit the city's department of vital records ;i.e, the city in which your grandfather was married. Ev...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Topham, I am unsure but if you call the offices of the Department of Foreign Affairs, I am sure they will be able to tell you. You may also email them, click on contact and then the appropriate box, which in your case would be "passports." There will be space for you to provide a subject h...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Blue-That is hilarious. I wonder if you are American you sound a lot like Trump, the GREAT projector. I am UNselfish and not a narcissist so please don't project yourself onto Me. I am a happy person who feels that Everyone should be treated equally and in the order she submitted her application. Wh...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Shaz, I didn't see your follow up post. My family owns a lot of land-so much so that we, can all live peacefully on it and not encroach on each other's space. We are close knit anyway. I don't know what you would do in your situation. But do get your mother's divorce certificate professionally trans...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

I have just received my FBC and am absolutely ecstatic! As I have taken much comfort and been very encouraged by other posts on this forum I would like to add my own experience in the hope that it will ease the anxiety for others while awaiting the outcome of their applications. I applied for my FB...

I Love Babies!!!<3 You however, are an idiot. You are not special for overpopulating the planet. Irish people are special and Ireland is underpopulated. There is plenty of room for everyone---even individuals, such as your "uncle" and yourself. I don't like to argue and I was minding my o...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

So everyone else who has waited sicx to seven months has to wait longer because someone is having a kid? Doesn't make sense. You appear to lack the moral sense and love of babies for which we Irish are justly famous. Are you sure you are Irish? I love babies. I am a hell of a lot more Irish than yo...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Hi Shaz, I am going to provide you with information to the best of my knowledge but I have been wrong before as I did not know about the agreement between Britain and Ireland hich states that there is no need for permits to reside on each other's shores. There is a proper contact form on the Ministr...

Re: Slightly confused?

The 2 countries have a trade agreement which might keep this visa-free pact in tact; however I would argue that precisely BECAUSE of non-recent history; i.e; 100 years ago and recent history-territorial disputes as recent as 20 years ago- that English citizens would NOT be given the Privilege to liv...

Re: Slightly confused?

I think all this will change with Brexit. You don't have a "right" as a British citizen to live in Ireland if you are not part of the European Union. It just doesn't sound right-especially given the history.:D I may be a bit sensitive since my grandparents are Irish and my Great grandpare...

I looked it up and it appears there currently is no visa needed between the 2 countries; however then why are Brits applying for citizenship en masse?

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Hi all Does anyone know if you can you both Glasgow or Liverpool for passport express- I'm in London and I find it's cheaper to fly to Glasgow than getting train to Liverpool. i have just applied from passport express glasgow. it is worth noting that on top of the advertised 70 quid passport fee , ...
