Thanks so much - Visa success!

Yay! This week I received my fiance visa! Thanks to this website a thorough immigration lawyer the BHC called me in record time. (They usually take 4-6weeks) I got a phone call in the second week to confirm my travel date and to say I was going through for final authorisation and this week I had a c...

Hello Tara, I'm in a similar situation where I'm about to get married to a UK citizen and I'm from NZ. I am going over on a fiance visa in a few months. If you are planning to stay in the UK it may be better to get married in NZ and then go over on a spouse visa - it saves you money not having to ap...

I find this 28 day clause quite interesting.. What happens if you are employed at the time of your visa being issued? In NZ employment contracts usually require people to give a months notice before leaving. In the application for a fiance visa it says not to commit to travel plans and selling of as...

I do know that you can't get married on a tourist visa. To get married in the UK you need a fiance visa or a visit for marriage visa. As for your own situation in the UK and whether it is applicable to you - I don't know - hopefully someone else on this board can help.

Good Luck :)

Self Employed Fiance

Hello just a general query - somebody may be able to point me in the right direction. My UK Fiance is self employed and has just started up a company. He has no regular income at the moment and we are applying for a Fiance visa for me to go to the UK. Our problem is proving an income for him to supp...

Certificate of no Impediment

I am looking at applying for fiance visa so I can get married in the UK - as a New Zealander getting married to someone from the UK do I need to apply for a certificate of no impediment or is the letter stating that I'm free to marry enough?? Also if we get married in New Zealand would my Fiance hav...

Denied Entry - a problem for Fiance Visa?

I'm applying for a Fiance visa to the UK. Does that fact that my Fiance has been denied entry into a country have a bearing on our application and should we disclose this information? Personally I think it doesn't have alot to do with the application as it's for me getting into the UK. Just wanted t...

Unfortunately I will heading off to the Wellington High Commission by myself, however I did check with them and if HO sites my Fiance's passport and sends certified copies to Wellington its all good. Yes finding out about the spouse fees after getting married was a nice surprise - I'm glad I checked...

Thank you so much for your information - it does make it less daunting when you have somebody to talk to that has been through it.

So I'll be off to apply in the next few weeks and hopefully I'll be full swing into the finer details of a wedding!

Thanks again

Lizzy

Fiance Visa Fun

Like many other people on this discussion board I'm in the middle of applying for a fiance visa. My Fiance is from the UK and I'm a New Zealander. I do have a couple of queries that I hope can be answered. My Fiance and I have made a concious decision not to live together before marriage - we will h...
