Re: Preparing ILR Application (SET M)

Thanks for all your help. Her ILR was granted a couple of weeks ago.

BRP card has been received - the covering letter made no mention of needing return her old BRP card for FLR(M).

Do we need to return it?

British Citizenship Application - Spouse of BC

Hi, My wife recently received her Indefinite Leave to Remain - we now wish to submit her naturalization application (I am a British Citizen). From reading the guidance on the UK Gov website, it appears that we will need to have the following ready for when we apply. 1. Scan of BRP Card (to prove ILR...

Re: Preparing ILR Application (SET M)

Thanks. We submitted and paid last night via Super-Priority Service. On the list of documents required, it suggests that my wife (the applicant) needs to provide her previous passport - I don't recall needing to do this for FLR(M). The below is listed as a required document: "All previous passp...

Re: Preparing ILR Application (SET M)

We have just completed the application form and are ready to pay, however we were only given two payment options; 1. Standard Service (6 months wait) 2. Super-Priority Service (Next Working Day) We were hoping to use the 'Priority Service' which is £500 less than the Super-Priority Service; is this ...

Re: Preparing ILR Application (SET M)

Thanks for your help. We have compiled the following, ready for when we submit the application. We are leaving the country for a few days next week so are going to submit when we are back. Have I captured everything which is required in my list below? General: 1. Sponsor Passport (all pages) 2. Appl...

Re: Preparing ILR Application (SET M)

Thanks - I have received this letter now.

For clarity, do we need to provide correspondence for the past 2.5 years or just 2 years under SET M?

Thanks.

Re: Preparing ILR Application (SET M)

Thanks.

How far back do I need to go with the correspondence / financial requirement evidence?

Our previous FLR application only required going back as far as 2 years prior to the application date.

Preparing ILR Application (SET M)

Hi, My wife qualifies for ILR under SET M within the next few weeks. She passed her Life in the UK Test around a month ago. Other than the Life in the UK Test requirement, it seems like a ILR Application under SET M is very similar to the Spouse Visa / FLR Applications we have submitted in the past,...

Re: Spouse Visa options for couple not living together / never lived together and not married

Not any time soon from what I understand...

They visit each other pretty much every 2-3 weeks but are looking to settle down together.

Would the wording which I included in my original post not apply to them?

Spouse Visa options for couple not living together / never lived together and not married

Hi, My brother (British Citizen) has been in a relationship with a French Citizen for more than two years and they are exploring ways to settle together within the same country. I see that on the Gov website this additional option has been added (since my wife applied for the Spouse Visa in 2019): '...

When to apply for ILR

Hi, My wife originally came to the UK on a Student Visa in August 2016. She was granted her Spouse Visa in 25th April 2019. She was granted her FLR(M) on 11th October 2021, which expires on 2nd May 2024. What is the earliest date we could submit her Indefinite Leave to Remain Application? Presumably...

Re: Will I leave my Natrualised UK Citizenship if I leave the UK to live in another country?

Thanks for your response. I have just read the thread you have linked. Seems like this person only got into this mess because they forgot to apply for their UK Passport...? If they had sorted their passport prior to travelling surely they'd still have their UK Citizenship now?

Will I leave my Natrualised UK Citizenship if I leave the UK to live in another country?

Does anyone have any experience with leaving the UK to live in another country after receiving their Natrualised UK Citizenship? I am conscious that the UK Gov has the right to revoke Citizenship given that the 'future intentions' requirement has not been met. Note: I have posted a similar thread re...

Life in the UK test - when to take the test?

Hi, I read somewhere that once you pass the Life in the UK Test, the certificate does not have an expiry date. Based on this, could you take the test months or even years before your ILR application? My wife is eligible to apply for ILR in 2 years, could she just take the test in the next few months...

Re: Proof of Cohabitation

A) As long as the bills / correspondence look similar to what it would when it gets sent through the post, this should be fine. B) Do the copies of these bills state the period in which the bill was for or when it was due? If so, provided that this is clearly stated on the bill I cant imagine this w...

If your friend has notified the home office of the marriage breakdown, then he has done what he needs to do. Re: Returning Resident Visa - Query

Thanks for this. I have had a read through and it appears that time spent on Student Visa's can be used towards the 10 years permanent residence, which is useful. It seems like the safest thing to do would be to apply for British Citizenship, but ensure that 10 years of continuous residence has been...

Re: Returning Resident Visa - Query

Thanks, and that makes sense. Based on your response I have the following questions if I may: 1. Can the Home Office revoke your British Citizenship for leaving the UK live abroad in the hopes to later return? 2. If so, wouldn't it be safer to stay ILR rather than apply for BC and therefore you woul...

Returning Resident Visa - Query

If a natrualised UK citizen was to leave the UK for several years to reside in a different country, and hypothetically (and cynically), if their citizenship was to be revoked due to them no longer living in the UK, would they be able to apply for a Returning Resident Visa? I am aware that usually th...
