Re: Time out of UK after MN1 application and applying for citizenship from outside UK

Topics merged!! My new question is completely different than the question it was merged into. They are two different questions. The previous was only asking if I should include passport in my supporting documents, whereas the new question has nothing to do with that topic. I dont understand why the...

Time out of UK after MN1 application and applying for citizenship from outside UK

Hi all, I am applying for MN1 registration of my daughter, who was born in UK. She was born in July, I got my ILR in August. I have submitted her MN1 application online and we have biometrics for her after 2 days (on 12th). We plan on travelling back to our home country after biometrics. Once her MN...

Re: [MN1] Should I add passport to supporting documents even though in application I said applicant does not have passpo

Thanks for the answer, so that puts my mind at ease and I'll upload the passport as well. As for travel, my daughter was born only recently and doesnt have an ILR. She was born in UK. And yes, applying for passport from abroad is the intention now. Once registration is successful, I will applyt for ...

Re: [MN1] Should I add passport to supporting documents even though in application I said applicant does not have passpo

I don't think there are any cons to declaring that you've got a passport, as by default your child will have the first nationality and then be registered as British. and you've already included the national ID. So can't think of any issue from doing the passport as well. I would say the passport co...

[MN1] Should I add passport to supporting documents even though in application I said applicant does not have passport?

Hi, So I'm applying for my daughter's MN1 application and have submitting the online application and have biometrics next week. I am now uploading the supporting documents to UKVCAS and had this thought. So at the time of application my daughter did not have a passport as she was born in the UK only...

Re: Daughter's MN1 form. 3 confusing questions

1. Are either of the parents of the child (as stated in this application) applying for British citizenship on an AN form? Yes/No Since you have not applied for naturalization at the time of the MN1 application then the answer to this will be No. 2. I would like my child (as stated in this applicati...

The requirement of "Write name and date on back of photo and glue to referee form"?

Hi, For the referee of MN1 application, the referee form is asking me to : On the back of the applicant’s photograph, please write their full name and date of birth. The photograph should then be glued into the space aside. Then once that is done, I should take signature from my referee's. I dont se...

Re: Referees for naturalization application of a new born baby?

Right just another update.

I've decided to go this route, its rare for a health visitor to agree to something like this. So I'm just taking this

I'll put 000000 as her date of birth and passport number and attach the email correspondence to the application.

Re: Referees for naturalization application of a new born baby?

Right, so the midwife I requested to be a referee replied to my email and said that she is willing to be a referee but with the following conditions: will give her work/clinic address instead of her home address she is not willing to share any personal details, including her passport number. I tried...

Re: Referees for naturalization application of a new born baby?

Referees must: ....... know or have known the applicant personally for more than 3 years Is that not the correct one? It is the correct form but is what you quoted in your first post (above) on it? Yes, that is from the link I provided. And what I quoted above is copied from the referee section of ...

Re: Referees for naturalization application of a new born baby?

Children are registered, not naturalised. It seems that you are filling in the wrong form. The correct form is MN1: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/864363/form-mn1-02-2020.pdf You'll find that there is no requirement for the referee to...

Re: Referees for naturalization application of a new born baby?

You are normally expected to provide one referee who is involved professionally with the child, maybe midwife or health visitor. I believe the other could be a friend if they qualify to be a referee. Clearly referees would know the child for only a year. The forms and instructions are standard but ...

Caseworkers will know the age of the child.
Thanks, so who can I use as referees? Can I ask my friends who have known me personally? But that doesnt seem right... as the declaration from the referees is knowing the applicant for last 3 years (which is my baby and which is not true)

Thanks

Referees for naturalization application of a new born baby?

Hi, My baby was born in UK in July, this was before I got my ILR. I got my ILR in August and can now apply for her naturalization. While filling the application, I have reached the referees section. According to the guidance: Referees must: not be a relative, solicitor or agent of the applicant not ...

Will applying for naturalization prevent me from travelling abroad?

I know that in ILR case, when you apply you cannot travel abroad, in doing so your application is automatically withdrawn.

But is it the same case for naturalization? After submitting application will I have to wait for decision before I can travel or leave UK?

Thanks

Re: How much detail for "What was the reason for this time spent outside the UK?"

I have another question related to this. In my recent vacation/holiday to Pakistan, I came back via Qatar, Doha. I spent 1 night in Doha and got a transit visa to go out of the airport for this day. Do I have to mention this? I'm only asking because there are entry and exit stamps on my passport for...

Re: How much detail for "What was the reason for this time spent outside the UK?"

I would also like to mention that throughout these 10 years I have maintained a continous period of stay, i.e. never once stayed away for more than 180 days in one stretch, and also have not exceeded the 540 days maximum.

I'm at 490 days outside of UK in my 10 years period

How much detail for "What was the reason for this time spent outside the UK?"

Hi, just a quick question for this one. I am now filling out my ILR application for 10 year route (Set (LR)). And during these 10 years I visited my home country over 16 times. Some were short, like 3 weeks and there are longer periods of holiday say 2-3 months. I am just wondering how much details ...
