I have to say I agree with you! I have found that SOLVIT have no interest in helping people (or at least that's my impression)! I know but the papers seem to only highlight the non-Irish!! tHat's what drives me crazy....there are hundreds if not thousands who abuse the system and are fraudsters......and most of them are Irish!

Have to say I like the idea of the surprise checks.....in Italy it is done on a regular basis....to make sure they are not marriage of convenience!

sometimes Embassy staff just amaze me, firstly you should write back to the embassy quoting the Directive which 86 has linked on his previous post! They should be updated on the rules and regulations related to issuing visa which they clearly are not. You certainly do not have to pay for a visa........
