Many thanks for all the replies. I do appreciate it.

My beautiful wife arrived last Thursday. She had to spend 10 minutes getting an X-ray. She had more problems getting her luggage than her health check.

We are now together, finally.

Dawie, Thank you for the information. I see your point and agree that a free-health check is normally a good thing. But there is another side to this; Imagine that you have spent months filing forms, paying large fees, traveling long distances for interviews at the British High Commission to prove y...

Thank you for all the replies. I guess my wife will be delayed by a few hours then.

Is it just an X-ray, or is there always some additional test involved too?

9 months is an awfully long time.

I believe that at this point, you should consider raising it with your MP and/or filing a formal complaint to the IND. Most spouse visas take only three months, as I am sure you know.

Health Inspections On Arrival In UK?

Hi, I am anxiously waiting for my new bride to arrive in England, after getting her spouse visa. I am a little surprised to find out that she may have to undergo a medical inspection when she arrives at Heathrow. I've done some research and found that it's mostly for TB screening, as far as I can te...

I would suggest that if you don't need to mention them on the form, then you don't need to mention them in your sponsor's letter. I believe the primary concern is that the home will not be overcrowded. If they don't live there, then it should not be an issue. Your records should show that you have e...

I recently did the same thing. All the documentation I took is listed here; http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=14468 I wish I had known then, what I know now. When you go, take all your bank statements, paychecks, phone bills/letters/emails. File the application soon after the wedding ...

I got certified copies in the US by going to my local bank and having a Public Notary certify them for me. I found that my bank does this for free. In the UK, I went to the website of the Notaries Society and found a notary close to me. They qre quite expensive. I heard UK soliciters can do the same...

I've heard that they ask information on a few points in the application, which they want to double check. I think that when they ask for extra evidence in the interview letter, you will have some idea about where their concerns lie (if any). I've also heard of them asking general questions like; 1) ...

Hi,

I believe she will go on March 20.

Regarding my second question, it seems that she has to get there by a certain time to be allocated a firm interview slot. If she arrives late, she will not be given any slot at all.

Regards,

Mike.

ISB Interview - Process And Expectations?

Hi, My beautiful new bride applied for her spouse visa on 12th Jan 2007. She just received a letter inviting her for an interview at BHC ISB. What tips, pointers and advice can I give her, so that she is better prepared? She has a very gentle nature and I shudder to think how upset she would be if a...

It seems to me that with anything the government touches these days, instead of asking; "How best can we serve the law-abiding tax-paying citizens who pay our wages?" They instead ask; "How much blood can we suck out of the people, but yet still leave them available for some more leac...
