It was a pasing comment merely trying to say that if she weren';t entitled in another category, I don't think that the doctors would turn a woman in labour away. They would treat them first and deal with the rest later.

It's possible that the HO has applied for a High Court Review. I'm not a expert in appeals but I do know that they are separate from the HO.

Unfortunatley, this means that the HO has little jurisdiction in terms of time-scales as it is out of their hands.

Public Funds

Here is a list of public funds your wife is not entitled to whilst on her 2 year visa; · income-based jobseeker’s allowance · attendance allowance · severe disablement allowance · carer’s allowance · disability living allowance · income support · child tax credit · working tax credit · a social fund...

If it is with a case-working section, it does not necessarily mean that it is going to be soon. If it is with a case-worker, then it may be soon but you'll have to ask your MP to ring and see. Unfortunatley, there is very little anyone can say in regards to time-scales. A letter from the Cit Bureau ...

If you are successful, you will be granted 2 years leave to remain on Code 1 conditions.

This will entitle you to work for the 2 years but you will have no recourse to public funds.

I see what you mean, it's just i think it would put the UK and other 'Safe' countries in a difficuilt position. If you could renounce your citezenship, then it would make removal of a person extemely hard. A lot of people would be doing it. I'm not sure, but I don't think the convention would cover ...

You'll just have to sit tight i'm afraid. i'm not trying to insult you. You have paid for a service and you will get one. You're are just going to have to wait. Again, there isn't enough staff in any department to deal with the amount of applications received. it's not just the 1/2 million outstandi...

So as you seem to be so knowledgeable of Immigration, what would you do? How many, to your knowledge, applications are outstanding? Answer that. Let's take your IPOD analogy. Anyone has the right to buy an IPOD, not everyone has the right to be in the UK. You've overstayed in the UK and now expect t...

Presumably if they take it on, they will ring thei Hotline or write in to the HO. This will thne be assesed by a minsterial unit as to who should answer it. If there is a problem, the Ministerial Drafter will look into reolving this and inform the MP. If you have overstyaed or are being dealt with b...

I work for the Home Office so obviously know more than you (none of the usual civil servant Rhetoric, thanks!). Sure, why should we make people pay? Let's deal with applications for free shall we? The IND is entitled to recover the costs in deciding applications just like anyone else. If we don't ch...

I'm not entirely sure but I think that you can do that. If everyone did that, then claiming asylum would be easy. Perhaps you can, but whether it means we wont return you to ZWE I don't think it will make a difference. ZWE removals are now being enforced. If you denounce your ZWE citenzship it will ...

Cost of Applications

The Home Office does not have enough staff to cope for many reasons. People who apply under 14 year rule have overstayed in the UK. They have broken the immigration rules and they know they have. You can't put the blame on the IND but on people who come to UK, do not obey the rules and who decided t...

Re: The Moderators

I think it would irresponsible of the moderators of this board to try and get the contact details of a case-worker to contact. I also doubt it will have any effect on the time it will take to resolve the application. They have not adhered to the Immigration Rules and are considered a low priority, e...

Go to your MP

I would go to your MP, they may be able to give you some advice and there are dedicated Hotlines for them to contact.

Failing that, just sit tight, a solicitor would be able to do nothing it seems in this instance.

Extending Pasports

I believe the same is tru of Pakistani passports, sorry I didn't think of that.

Still, it may be worth, if possible, getting a new one, i wouldn't have thought they can extend it for 10 years.

I'm just saying as there is a fee involved with NTL.

MP involvement

The last post is correct. Involving your MP will send your application into another queue. This will extend your application by some 6 months +. The MP has no powers and frankly don't really know what they are talking about. Many letters attempt to play on the compasionate reasons which will be igno...

Hi

Your passport expiring will have no effect on your application so don't worry. If your submit your expired passport and are granted ILR, you will be granted on an Immigration Status Document. This is an A4 piece of paper with the Vignette on it. Once you renew your passport, to have it transferred t...

Once you enter the UK, you have 6 months maximum. If you leave after a month and come back a month later, your visitor visa will still be valid and you would have 4 months left on it. It does not go back to 6 months when you leave the UK unless you return after it expires. You may wish to apply in-c...
