Naturalisation: 1 year wait or 3 years?

Hi people, I came to UK in 1998, had a visit visa, applied for asylum same day at airport. Asylum and appeal rights were exhausted in 2001. As a result, between 2001 to 2004, I was an "absconder" on HO records. My HR had not been dealt with during my asylum & appeals. So in 2004 I subm...

Yes I know I am eligible to apply for any of those benefits/tax credits!

What I wanted to find out is whether it can result in a refusal of my naturalisation application?

Dear all, My wife is a British Citizen and I have ILR and I now intend to apply for naturalisation. My wife and I earn £57k and we have just been blessed with a baby. I work full time, pay taxes and have never claimed benefits etc. My question is, if we were to apply for: 1 child tax credit/working...

Liberal Immigrant's friend has already tried and been refused. He can try his luck again. It all depends if he falls on a lenient case worker. strictly speaking, the docs were retained by the PEO: it is now going to be considered by a senior caseworker. hence my search for arguments i can present s...

Re: legacy cases

CAN SOME ONE TELL ME PLEASE, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A RESPONCE FRO HO, AFTER SENDING 4 PHOTOS. THANK YOU. if there was a universal formula which every home office caseworker followed, life would have been far more easier! from my experience, its 4-8 weeks but then again it can take longer. ho...

Re: family legacy case

i am not sure to be honest. i hope u have already informed them about ur husband and child. if u havent, u should do so asap so that they can treat u as a priority case. ideally speaking, i wouldnt advise including long boring reports from 3rd party organisations who have nothing to do directly with...

firstly, i would suggest that you wait for a reply from the HO, lets see what they say. it usually takes the HO 3-5 weeks to reply to an MP (the target they have set themselves is 6 weeks). But wot i would strongly recommend you 2 do is that ask your MP to ask the HO in his letter as to whether the ...
