Re: English test for ILR when it was given more than 5 years ago

Hi, But I think this is SELT test as it is in the approved list https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/658919/2017-11-13_-_Approved_Secure_English_Language_Tests_and_Test_Centres.pdf Also, she used this test in her last Tier 2 extension as well, does she still need...

English test for ILR when it was given more than 5 years ago

Hi,
My wife will be eligible for ILR this September and I wanted to know if she will need to give the English test again as she already appeared in on (IELTS) in September 2012.

Re: Child travelling abroad after registring as British but with old passport

Many thanks.. I will surely post any question related to OCI and all on a separate post but before that would just want to confirm one more thing please. As you said grace period of using the Indian passport, what does this actually mean? Does it mean what I was initially thinking that I will take m...

Re: Child travelling abroad after registring as British but with old passport

Also, what can be the worse case scenario if I have to travel to India after he has registered as British but travel on Indian passport. I know you have already mentioned that his visa may have cancelled as soon as he will get registered as British but if his British passport and getting Indian visa...

Child travelling abroad after registring as British but with old passport

Hi, I have recently got the ILR (thanks everyone for the suggestions I asked here) and now I am going to register my child as a British citizen and currently he has got Indian passport with dependent visa (on my tier-2, valid until 2019. I applied his visa when I renewed my Tier2 in Feb 2016). So ca...

@CR001: I prefer to use my existing thread but it looked meet the dead end hence, I thought I may create a new one. So please advise me on this.. I am entitled for 26 days/per year and in 2014, due to my brother passed away, I had to take 3 bereavement leaves so I actually took 26+3 holidays in Aug ...

Proof of Bereavement leave for ILR

Hi, Can someone please advise that what evidence do I have to provide for Bereavement leave for ILR. Re: Absense/holidays from work record

@CR001: Manager would only sign which he approved but would not sign where other managers approved which already left. Even they sign, they will only sign the holidays approved by them but if I went abroad or not they would not confirm as it is not their responsibility to track on which holidays I a...

Re: Absense/holidays from work record

Sorry, but I was never abroad on company assignment as mentioned in the template. Our company keeps holidays record on a form which gets approved by the line manager so only me and my manager knows about my holidays hence, HR dont have any knowledge about my holidays. For holidays outside UK is fine...

Absense/holidays from work record

Hi I am shortly going to apply for my ILR but I am little confused about proof of absence/holidays from work. My Tier 2 started in Jan 2013 and I am entitled for 28 days of holidays. I have put all the dates in the SOT form where I was outside of UK. But thing in my company uses a standardised form ...

Re: Tier 2 Dependent child when I get my ILR, can he travel abroad

Thanks, just out of curiosity, why son's dependent visa will remain valid if I am applying ILR through 5 years route rather than 10 years one. Also, if I had my wife dependent on my Tier 2 visa and I am applying for my ILR then I dont have to apply for her extension/ILR (depends on situation) at the...

Re: Tier 2 Dependent child when I get my ILR, can he travel abroad

Thanks, as his visa is dependent on mine, does that not mean when my Tier 2 visa no longer exists as I will get the ILR, his visa will get void automatically?

Staying more than stated in the UK visitor application

Hi My parents came here in UK on visitor visa in Aug2016 and they stated in the application that they will be here for 3 weeks but instead they stayed for 6 months ( but did not overstay ). This was just because they came here to see their grandson and wanted to spend more time with him, that's it, ...

Re: Can my wife be my ILR dependent as she is on Tier 2 General without going India

I thought as she has been living with me since 2011, she can directly apply for the ILR or may need to wait less than 5 years... No, it doesn't work like that. This would ONLY apply if she was a dependent on your visa. For the majority of routes to ILR, it now requires 5 years residence (the rules ...
