Re: Help with British Citizenship Application - Life in the UK Test

Hi, I am about to apply for the British Citizenship and require help with regards to the Life in the UK Test question in Section 1. I applied for ILR in 2015 and as part of the application process my Life in the UK pass test letter was retained by the case worker. I have been advised to enclose a c...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

Oh that's excellent ino, but how long do you have to attend the ceremony-its 30 days right? I would be gone for about 3 months (Dad having an operation) You are required to book your ceremony within 21 days of receipt of the letter and you are required to attend your ceremony within 90 days. Thanks...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

I know patience is a virtue but its one virtue I don't have! There is no way I can do my 2-3 month summer trip back to NZ at Xmas until this is granted or they won't let me back in! Presumably you applied yourself by post instead of using NCS so that you can keep hold of your original documents?? I...

Re: Delay more than 6 months

My HR team at work (who deal with sponsorship visa's a lot) have suggested I email them to chase my application. I realize the process is different though and I don't want to aggravate them. Would emailing them be a pointless exercise? Your guidance would be appreciated. Immigration and citizenship...

Re: General Discussion During Naturalisation Application Process

Thanks minister It does look like people from July have now started getting decisions. Ukba Uses 2nd Class Mail to post out the letters and it's only a matter of time when it lands on your door.. Really? I am a June applicant and still haven't heard anything. :( I am 10 July and if you don't have i...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

it seems obvious to me as someone with over 20 years in IT that there is a batch job running each day around midday (great choice of timing, NOT!). This batch checks the database and picks up the last status of each application, then posts it out to the webserver(s). This would explain why status c...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

Looks like May was a particularly tricky month for applications. I see people who applied in Septemeber already being in the "decided" bucket. Not sure, whether they lost my bucket .... :x Navin, I just spoke with a friend who applied on 9th May, he is also waiting . So looks like April/M...

Re: Check the status of your application online - New service

From what I can see on the forum, May Applicants have been badly hit interms of waiting time.To see that July and August Applicants are getting 'decisions' already while some May applicants are still waiting is just beyond reason.I won't be surprised if it is a particular individual that is sitting...

Re: Has the HO become more strict post June 2016?

@ swintooh - the Good Character Requirement came into effect in December 2014, hence the spike in refusals in 2015 for reasons such as periods of overstay and no legal status, working illegally, criminal records etc etc etc. Most refusals these days is due to applicants not checking exactly what is...

Re: Has the HO become more strict post June 2016?

It is clearly Brexit that caused a significant increase of citizenship applications from EEA citizens - this should have been well foreseen by Home Office. The little spikes correspond with when David Cameron announced the intention for referendum (2010), when it was made clear there is going to be...
