Re: Moving from UK to Ireland with non EU spouse

Hi, Yes I am a UK citizen. You say "once she is a UK citizen" - she doesn't intend to become a UK citizen, just apply for ILR - does this give the same right to live in Ireland? If we have to move before that, I assume we have to start the process of visa application for her again in Irela...

Hi, My wife is currently in the UK and has recently got her second 2.5 year visa, with the aim of applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain towards the end of 2022. Now it looks like I might need to move to the Republic of Ireland for personal business reasons. Does anyone know where that leaves my wi...

Re: Extend spouse visa questions

Unclear why you are adding travel of your daughter. Is she applying for a visa extension??? What was the question exactly?? No she is not applying for a visa. She is British and lives with my ex-wife. There is a section which says "Does Mr XXXX XXXXXXXX have any other children in the UK that a...

Re: Extend spouse visa questions

Thanks for the quick reply. "Your ex wifes details isn't relevant to the application" Yes that's what I thought. However they ask for her details on the online application form and even want proof of her address eg utility bill - I'm sure you can imagine the reaction I got from her when I ...

Extend spouse visa questions

Hi, We are applying to extend my wife's spouse visa. Application must be made by 4th August. I have a couple of questions I hope someone can help with: 1. She took her A2 english test last week. We have been waiting 3 months to get an appointment due to CV19. If she doesn't pass the test what can we...

Re: Spouse visa extension

Sorry another question. I have two children from a previous marriage but at the time of application they will both be over 18. The online application is asking me to provide all their details including addresses, passport details, proof of their mother's address, whether they have ever travelled out...

Re: Spouse visa extension

We can wait, yes. I just remember how complicated and stressful it was last time and would like to get it out of the way asap.

What if she fails the test and has to rebook? No guarantee that another test appointment will be available at short notice.

Re: Spouse visa extension

Many thanks, very helpful.

As far as the English test is concerned, we can't do that at the moment as testing is suspended. When I looked on the English Council website the earliest test booking shown was 28/6/20. I guess we could try and book that. Otherwise I think we will have to apply without it.

Spouse visa extension

Hi, We will be applying for the extension of my wife's spouse visa soon. I wanted to check the date when we should apply. The residence permit says it was issued on 29/12/17 and is valid until 05/10/20. She entered the UK on 4/2/18. I was assuming that we need to apply by 3/8/20. Is this correct? Sh...

Re: Medical treatment - including miscarriage

Thanks for your reply. I will contact the hospital and ask for a bill. As we put NO on the online application I will manually change this to YES and I will include a separate sheet with full details and the bill and receipt for payment. Is this acceptable do you think? As mentioned in the post you q...

Re: UK spouse visa - council tax bill required?

Council tax bill copy is not mandatory. You can send your utility bills copy. Landlord letter should state permission for your wife to stay once she'll be granted visa. Property inspection report is not required since you're the sole occupant. Tenancy agreement needs to be included. They just want ...

Re: UK spouse visa - council tax bill required?

In my understanding, it is required: (f) The monthly housing and Council Tax costs for the accommodation in the UK in which the applicant (and any other family members who are or will be part of the same household) lives or will live if the application is granted. Para 12A (f) of Appendix FM-SE I b...
