The reason for rejection was salary. The company was paying me £20,000, which I believe was quite acceptable for Scotland for a graduate job.

Could somebody please suggest if there is any risk associated with my application?

Yes I was working for them from India. The company was quite keen to have me on board as they were very happy with my work. They informed about the third rejection in the end of April and even though I stopped working for them, they gave me a grace period of one month for me to look for an alternati...

Applying in Jan - Complicated situation

I am applying for my Tier 1 from India in Jan 2010. I have been working in UK before on Fresh Talent: Working in Scotland scheme. However my visa was expiring in Feb 2008. My employer applied for work permits twice and it was rejected. So I left UK before my visa expiry. However, I discussed my work...

Yes that's what I also thought. And don't know whether it would cause unnecessary confusion with the caseworker.

Still can't decide whether to put these documents or not.

Thanks chetanojha! I uunderstand that it's not a part of the mandatory document set but what I have heard is that when you are applying from India, they generally ask for a set of optional documents. This is not quite mandatory but nice to have and don't know the extent of influence these would have...

3 Year IT Returns - Applying from VFS Bangalore

I called VFS today morning to cross-check the list of documents needed. I told them that I'll be submitting my payslips and bank statements for previous earnings. They also told me that an applicant needs to submit three years IT returns. The customer service consultant said that even though it's no...

Thanks. The reason why I had this doubt is because I am showing the same set of bank statements for maintenance funds and previous earnings. The caseworker might get curious about the sudden appearance of the funds.

Doubt regarding Maintenance Funds

As for maintenance funds, I have been maintaining the maintenance funds £2800 since 01-SEPT-2009. I will be applying for my Tier1 from India in the first week of 2010 and will show the period from 01-OCT-09 to 01-JAN-2010. My worry is that I deposited the required money on 01-SEPT-09 and was wonder...

Thanks paulp. Are you sure about the 28 day "grace" period? I spoke to a customer service advisor and he told me that there is no such grace period. I can live with the work permit application rejection to an extent. But if the supposedly 'overstay' adversely affects any of my future appli...

Thanks for your quick reply. I am not intending to appeal if my application is rejected.

I'll be leaving the country. But my worry is that will I considered as a 'overstayer' when I leave? Will this have an effect on future applications?
