By the looks of it, passports were sent without ceremony, this is strange, could be HMPO is trying to cover their backs for their error.

I had PR and just thought to add mine, with HO better provide more than less, my child was born in 2013 to British father in the UK but as I was not divorced from previous marriage he was refused British nationality, so had to register him in June 2017, after so much drama with HMPO.

In my case, I never received approval letter but got the citizenship invitation with which I booked and attended my ceremony (private for £50).
