Thank you psdesai for the quick reply. Does "actively looking for employment" mean that I have to be registered with the jobcentre, because I have not done that - If any queries come up, then I do have emails to prove that I am constantly on the lookout for jobs - would that be sufficient...

Just curious to know about this particular situation: If the HSMP extension is refused and the current leave to remain is expired. Didnt win the review as well. Then obviously one needs to apply from the home country, then is the application considered as the normal HSMP extension under TIER 1 or is...

Re: Urgent:Tier1 application refused

You are in a very unfortunate situation which is definately not your mistake. The way forward from here is to get in touch with a solicitor, you will need help from your employer as well. I have a feeling there was miscommunication or misunderstanding from your employer and HO. You mentioned that HR...

Infact if you are married AND your partner stays with you even then you are eligible for council tax discount (100%) if you are on a student VISA (mind you, even Student VISA has a no recourse to public funds condition). See this : Reasons why a resident can be non-counting for council tax purposes...

Be clear that the definition of 'Single' here is 'Not Married' and not 'Just 1 person'. So, if you are married and you wife stays in the home country, and you occupy the property alone then you are NOT eligible for 'single person's discount' I clarified this with my council. You can get away with i...
