Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

Hello all;
The firm sponsoring me are going to try and phone home office to see if they can get any idea of what they think the cut off might be next month so that they can plan etc.
They probably won’t be able to give them any information but if they do I will let you know

Re: Tier 2 salary Threshold has been increased to 55k

The salary threshold hasn’t changed. In the last two months there was too many applications for restricted certificates of sponsorship and not enough certificates so they were allocated based on points based on salary. In December the cut off was 55. The salary cut off depends on how many COS are av...

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

I am NHS with 39 points and i have been refused in both December and January as have others in our trust. I had a read of the acceptance process and it does seem to be purely on points. If they give campus or milk round staff another 10 points surely they could consider it for NHS employees! Are yo...

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

They might also publish cut off lower than it was because they don’t want companies just going and raising salaries to get higher points. That would make it impossible for say NHS workers due to their standard/capped pay scales and if honest those workers are one of or the most important for the UK’...

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

I think considering last month disappointing for many employers, they would have considered each point level applications within a 5 point band. Another good thing is 115 surplus certificates are carried forward for Feb and considering they can borrow upto 100 certificates from future months, Feb a...

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

It seems January month's allocation is finished, I can see minimum points this time is better than last i.e. 46 points. Intriguing thing here is how come they arrived at 46 as minimum?? if RLMT is always 20 and Salary as below ..... £55,000 to £59,999.99 35 £50,000 to £54,999.99 30 £45,000 to £49,9...

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

Also what do you think is the probability of those with 35 points and under being approved from COS in February? Thanks! Was it your first attempt? If not, what's the result of earlier applications? If anyone has noticed, there is not a single 'rejection' posted by anyone during this month! Everyon...

Also if the RLMT expires after 6 months from when the job was first advertised I’m assuming it will need to be re-advertised after that point?

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

Would anyone mind telling me what industry you are all in?
I’m trying to see if there is any kind of pattern like a lot of applicats from one industry which may indicate the need for it as a skills shortage if all these companys have needed to look out of UK.
I’m in finance.

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

I have a few observations to make 1. The cut off last time was 55, this time someone with 55 got rejected & 50 got approved. If we take this on face value, it goes beyond just points. Further so folks with 30+ and 60+ are still awaiting results. 2. Historically the monthly allocation has never ...

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

Atleast those that applied for Nov batch and scored above 21 should get an exemption. Have you asked your employer about this possibility? I really don’t think many of us have much hope next month now. Everyone will just re-apply and the amount of certificates will be even lower as we’re very close...

Re: January 2018 Restricted COS

Hey guys I've been following the thread. Very strange that someone with 50 points received CoS but someone with 55 did not. Are we 100% they only look at points? All seems strange at present. [quote=sptula post_id=1585170 time=15...
